Pro wrestling veteran Alberto El Patron left AAA in July after losing a match to El Mesias during an episode of AAA Alianzas. He joined the cast of the reality show La Granja VIP, the celebrity version of Mexico’s branch of The Farm, in September.
According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, El Patron is no longer on the show. The report also mentions that he recently appeared on La Tijera Lucha Libre, expressing his desire to be part of the partnership between WWE and AAA. Although he has often stated that he plans to return to WWE, this has yet to materialize.
It's important to note the philosophy of Nick Khan regarding talent and legal issues: there must be strong evidence, such as a court conviction. Fortunately for El Patron, he does not have any such convictions. He is very popular as a babyface in Mexico, but AAA has shown that they can operate without him, making his future in wrestling uncertain.
This news follows reports from May, after WWE's purchase of AAA, indicating that El Patron was on a list of AAA talent who would be signed by WWE. However, WWE sources have consistently stated that there are no plans to utilize him. El Patron had a difficult relationship with WWE during his time there, and his past legal issues have been a significant barrier. He competed over the holidays, performing for The King Phantom on December 25th and for Producciones Deluxe on December 26th.
