All Elite Wrestling held its AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view event on Sunday, August 24th, at the O2 Arena in London, England.
According to the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the show performed nearly the same as this year’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view, which had an estimated 122,000 to 130,000 buys. The report also indicated that cable viewership numbers were lower compared to Double or Nothing, which was reflected in the overall figures from the U.S. and Australia.
However, the difference may be attributed to Forbidden Door airing in prime time in the UK, resulting in higher viewership numbers than usual, while it aired in the afternoon in the U.S.
