With WWE WrestleMania just over a month away, a growing point of frustration has formed within a specific department in WWE - marketing and production.
WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select reports that over the past several months, WrestleMania has undergone a number of shifts and changes when it comes to graphics related to the promotional aspect of the event. Right now, there have been three distinct looks pushed forward: the traditional black-and-white graffiti look, the futuristic neon blue style, the broken down vintage Vegas/Western inspired theme and most recently, the destructive, imploding Sin-City graphic.
Sources within WWE have shared that the direction for the event has never really been clear, but those in charge have continued to change their graphical requests along the way. The report notes that originally, WWE wanted to market WrestleMania around a “high end, classy vibe” aligned with the vignettes that aired showing superstars in a poker card game. However, since then promotional elements have shifted and have led to frustration amongst those involved in coming up with promotional material.
The hosts concluded that it likely boils down to multiple people being in charge compared to how WWE was run before with Vince McMahon ultimately in charge of everything. As a result, there are conflicting directives being passed down from higher-ups who perhaps may not only be involved in WWE specific initiatives but overseeing a larger scope including other TKO projects.
