Gabe Kidd is no longer participating in the NJPW G1 Climax tournament due to a knee injury sustained during his first match.
According to Fightful.com, Kidd's injury did lead to some adjustments in the tournament plans, although not as significantly as fans might imagine. The report highlighted that there were concerns before the tournament began about Kidd potentially suffering a torn MCL, but it turned out that he only had a hyperextension. Despite being less severe, this injury was still significant enough for him to be removed from the tournament.
As a result, Kidd had to forfeit all of his matches, which altered the overall rankings. However, sources indicated that Kidd was not expected to reach the semifinals, which made it easier for the tournament to proceed without him.
