The latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that recent injuries have not impacted WWE storylines as significantly as fans might believe. It has been suggested, even by reigning World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk, that GUNTHER will win the Last Time Is Now tournament. Additionally, the newsletter states that the plan from the outset has indeed been for GUNTHER to be John Cena’s last opponent.
The report also highlights a major change due to Jacob Fatu’s injury, which halted a planned feud between Fatu and Drew McIntyre. As a result, McIntyre’s match against Cody Rhodes was moved from Survivor Series to Saturday Night’s Main Event, allowing both Cody and Drew to participate in WarGames.
Furthermore, within the tournament itself, Penta sustained an injury while facing Solo Sikoa, although Sikoa was always intended to win. Seth Rollins’ injury led to Logan Paul stepping in to replace him at Survivor Series. This situation also prompted the Vision to turn on Rollins, creating a storyline reason for his injury.
