Backstage News On How Much Of “Timeless” Toni Storm’s Character Is Scripted

Sean Ross Sapp recently discussed the character work of "Timeless" Toni Storm in the latest edition of Fightful Select Answers. He focused on whether her promos are scripted or improvised. This conversation was sparked by AEW CEO and President Tony Khan, who has previously mentioned that he developed a Bette Davis-inspired character for Storm, drawing from her role in "All About Eve" as well as classic Hollywood films like "Sunset Boulevard."

Sapp noted that the storyline involving Storm and former AEW Women’s World Champion Mariah May (who currently wrestles as Blake Monroe in NXT) was an idea conceived by Khan even before May signed with AEW. He also highlighted the significant contribution of RJ City to Storm's “Timeless” character, a point that has been mentioned in earlier discussions. According to Sapp, Storm performs much of her character work herself, even during unscripted media appearances. He added that Storm’s TV promos seem to be the result of collaborative efforts.

Most recently, Storm and her tag team partner, Mina Shirakawa, competed in the finals of the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Title Tournament during the Winter is Coming edition of AEW Dynamite. They faced off against Babes of Wrath (Harley Cameron and Willow Nightingale), who won the match and became the inaugural AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions.
