Top AEW star Kenny Omega was brutally assaulted by The Don Callis Family during last Wednesday night’s AEW Dynamite, resulting in an angle where he was taken out of the 2300 Arena on a stretcher.
According to Fightful Select, Omega will not be appearing at the AEW All Out pay-per-view later this month. This is surprising since the event is being held in his home country of Canada. The report notes that Omega's absence from the show has been planned for some time, and the angle to write him off television has been in the works for months. The former AEW International Champion will be taking some time off.
The stretcher angle was designed not only to remove Omega from TV but also to help elevate reigning TNT Champion Kyle Fletcher. So, unless plans change, Omega will not be participating in All Out.
AEW All Out is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 20, at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and will be broadcast live on pay-per-view.
