Backstage News On Max Caster's Current Status With AEW

In the latest edition of Fightful Select's Q&A, Sean Ross Sapp addressed a fan's question about Max Caster. The fan was curious whether Caster is injured or in the "doghouse," as he has not appeared on AEW programming since competing in the Dynamite Diamond Ring 2025 Battle Royal at the AEW Dynamite Holiday Bash.

Previously, Caster had to team up with his former Acclaimed partner, Anthony Bowens. However, this storyline seemed to lose momentum after they lost the $200,000 4-Way Tag Team Match at the AEW Gear Saturday Tailgate Brawl.

Sapp clarified that Caster is not hurt, injured, or in trouble with AEW. He noted that the reunion of the Acclaimed did not seem to be gaining traction on AEW TV. Nevertheless, Caster’s "Best Wrestler Alive Open Challenge" gimmick received positive reactions and resonated well with fans, despite his ongoing losing streak during this series.

Despite his recent absence from AEW programming, Caster has been active on the independent circuit. He recently faced Bowens at the WrestlePro X 10-Year Anniversary show, which took place last Saturday, and Bowens emerged victorious. The Acclaimed also reunited at the House of Glory Big Event: SuperClash last month, where they defeated The Mane Event. Therefore, despite Caster's lack of appearances on TV, he does not seem to be taking any time off, as Sapp pointed out.

Meanwhile, Bowens last competed in AEW on the April 1 edition of Collision, where he lost an AEW Continental Title Eliminator match to the reigning champion, Jon Moxley.
