Backstage News On More WWE Content Coming To ESPN And Condensed Royal Rumble Airing On Main Network

WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select reports that more WWE content is set to air on ESPN, including a condensed version of the 2026 Royal Rumble premium live event (PLE), which will be broadcast on ESPN’s main network this Sunday, February 22nd. The report indicates that this initiative is part of a broader strategy to promote upcoming PLEs and to allow ESPN to assess viewership data for an over-the-air presentation of WWE content.

The Royal Rumble 2026 was streamed on the ESPN App last month in the U.S. for ESPN Unlimited tier subscribers. WWE has designated the ESPN App as the home for all of its PLEs in the U.S. as part of a five-year agreement that began in September 2025 with the WrestlePalooza PLE. Additionally, WWE’s premium live events (PLEs) are available for streaming on Netflix internationally.
