During last Tuesday night's episode of WWE NXT, there was a surprising appearance by pro wrestling legends William Regal and Fit Finlay. They appeared to lead an attack by Charlie Dempsey on Tavion Heights.
According to PWInsider.com, Regal and Finlay will now make regular appearances on NXT, as they are expected to mentor and guide this group moving forward. The report also mentioned that Regal has been off the road for WWE for some time, primarily working behind the scenes on the main roster.
Earlier this year, The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that Regal was part of WWE's main roster creative team, collaborating with Michael Hayes. His appearance on last Tuesday's NXT marked his first time back at the WWE Performance Center in a while and his first appearance on WWE television in recent memory; Regal's last WWE appearance was during the NXT Homecoming special in September.
After last Tuesday's NXT episode, Finlay shared a photo on his Twitter (X) account, showing himself and Regal alongside Charlie Dempsey, Lexis King, Channing Stacks Lorenzo, Uriah Connors, and TNA Knockouts World Champion Arianna Grace.
