Backstage Update On Anna Jay’s Contract Status With AEW

According to a report from December of last year, Anna Jay’s contract with AEW is set to expire in the spring of 2026. She has not appeared on AEW programming for quite some time, with her last appearance occurring just after the AEW Blood & Guts special, which featured the first-ever women’s Blood & Guts match. Recently, a fan inquired with Sean Ross Sapp during the latest edition of Fightful Select Answers about the reasons for Jay’s absence from AEW TV and the status of her contract with the company.

Sapp noted that Jay has been in contact with WWE and NXT and is "willing to talk to them" if the situation arises. As of now, there has been no official word regarding AEW’s stance on Jay’s contract, but further updates will be provided as they become available. Jay has not publicly commented on the situation, nor has AEW, which is customary for them.

Jay’s most recent match for AEW took place on November 19, 2025, during an episode of Collision. In that match, she teamed with Tay Melo to face Marina Shafir and Megan Bayne in the quarterfinals of the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship Tournament. Shafir and Bayne won that match before ultimately losing to the Timeless Love Bombs in the semifinals.
