As previously reported, La Catalina left CMLL following an announcement from the promotion, with her departure taking place on April 1st.
According to Bodyslam+ and LuchaBlog, Catalina is expected to participate in AAA Lucha Libre Worldwide’s tapings this Saturday. The tapings will be held at the Gimnasio Olimpico in Mexico City and will mark the first sessions since AAA Rey de Reyes aired over the past three weeks.
This news comes after reports indicated that Catalina was dissatisfied with her booking, feeling relegated to lower card spots as an extra or filler talent. She expressed that she did not intend to renew her contract with CMLL, stating there was nothing else for her to do within the company.
Catalina was previously with WWE from 2019 to 2021, where she performed as Carolina and later as Katrina Cortez. She made sporadic appearances in NXT under that name before leaving the company in November 2021. AAA programming airs on Fox in Latin America and on YouTube in the U.S.
