As previously reported, AEW President and CEO Tony Khan announced a potential television deal for the ROH brand and has been in discussions with various networks.
In the latest edition of Fightful Select Answers, Sean Ross Sapp addressed a fan question regarding ROH's television future. He clarified that Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) had a TV deal in mind for ROH. However, according to Sapp, WBD offered Khan a deal that did not meet his asking price, leading him to decline the offer and leaving ROH without a broadcasting home.
Sapp also mentioned that no broadcaster has been willing to meet Khan’s price for the ROH brand. Instead of launching a weekly ROH show, WBD opted to fill the slot by airing a replay of AEW's flagship program, Dynamite, on TruTV on Fridays at 10 PM ET. Initially, the timeslot was intended for ROH programming.
Additionally, Sapp expressed his belief that major networks are unlikely to make significant offers until ROH receives a stronger creative focus. Since its acquisition in 2022, ROH has struggled to secure a dedicated television presence. Although the company has occasionally benefited from crossover segments on AEW programming, its content has remained primarily available on its YouTube channel and the HonorClub streaming platform.
