- Shawn Michaels stepped in for Jacy Jayne during pre-show rehearsals. Michaels reportedly is the person who steps in for "surprises" though it's unclear why it's always him. As for Jayne, her return from injury came well ahead of even the most optimistic schedule.
- No internal run-downs were handed out for this week's show and several production staff who normally get a run-down of events were simply given blank sheets.
- The promo work of "All Ego" Ethan Page during the main event segment with Ava and Trick Williams received consensus praise backstage.
- While there have been rumors that WWE could use the UFC Octagon this weekend at Battleground, it doesn't appear as if it will happen due to logistical reasons.
- Nonetheless, many within NXT expect a "heavy UFC presence" at the Apex this weekend for the premium live event.
- No other TNA talent was backstage at NXT other than Jordynne Grace of course. Meanwhile, there are no plans for Brooks Jensen's angle to lead him to TNA as he mentioned in a social media video following his appearance.
