WWE legend John Cena wrapped up his in-ring career last night at Saturday Night's Main Event, losing to Gunther via submission.
With Cena's career in the books, recent reports have also mentioned other current superstars following in his steps with Chris Jericho, AJ Styles, Brock Lesnar and Rey Mysterio all being named as possibilities for retirement.
One person who you can exclude from any list is reigning World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk. During yesterday's SNME's post-show, he was asked by Big E whether retirement was in the cards and quickly put that question to rest:
"When I make allusions to the end of whatever my career is going to look like, it’s not because I feel like I’m there. It’s because I look back at the entirety of my career and there is a lot more road behind me than there is in front of me."
"Trust me, I am the champion for a reason, and I’m here to stay, and nobody’s going to change that. I’m not going anywhere anytime soon."
Punk reportedly signed a three-year contract when he returned to WWE back in 2023 and the company has since approached him to extend that to a longer term deal, though it's unclear if Punk ever agreed to that.
