CM Punk Wants Singles Matchup With Rising WWE Superstar

CM Punk wants a showdown with one of WWE's fastest rising stars.

Though they’re currently on separate brands, Punk has his eye on Jacob Fatu for a future singles match. In a recent interview with Netflix, Punk talked about who’s catching his attention in WWE and didn’t hold back on who he’d like to share the ring with.

“The women are carrying the show a lot of times,” Punk said. “I think Rhea Ripley is a superstar. Liv Morgan had an MVP year \[in 2024]. I like watching Gunther compete. I hate Dominik Mysterio, that’s neither here nor there.”

He continued, listing off a few dream opponents: “Guys I want to work with — Jacob Fatu. Got a little taste at WarGames, but one-on-one stuff is my bread and butter, \[there’s] more pressure that way … Finn Balor is fantastic. I selfishly want to lock back up with Rey Mysterio, teach him a lesson for having such a brat kid.”

Punk and Fatu briefly clashed at Survivor Series 2024 in the WarGames match, where Punk’s team — which included Roman Reigns, The Usos, and Sami Zayn — defeated the opposing squad of Solo Sikoa, Fatu, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Bronson Reed. A singles match between Punk and Fatu would be a first, and one fans would no doubt be eager to see.
