CMLL Announces La Catalina’s Departure, Details Released

CMLL has announced that top wrestler La Catalina has left the promotion, effective Wednesday, April 1, 2026.

In a statement, CMLL said (via Google Translate), “The World Wrestling Council informs that, effective from April 1, 2026, La Catalina has ceased to be part of the CMLL Amazonas roster. CMLL wishes her success in her future endeavors.”

According to BodySlam+, La Catalina was unhappy with her booking and felt she was mainly being featured as an extra or filler talent recently. The report also noted that she had been relegated to lower positions on the card as more AEW women wrestlers began making appearances in CMLL. While not yet confirmed, BodySlam+ mentioned that some within CMLL believe she could be heading to AAA, the rival promotion that was acquired by WWE last year.

La Catalina had been prominently featured in the company last year, including a high-profile match against AEW star Mercedes Moné at Fantastica Mania. She later announced her decision not to renew her contract, feeling there was nothing left for her to accomplish in CMLL and that the promotion did not align with her career aspirations moving forward.
