Former WWE and ECW enhancement talent Chuck Coates has passed away at the age of 63, as announced by his wife, Cynthia, on her Facebook account. The news was also shared by the Barstool Pack account. Currently, no details have been disclosed regarding the circumstances of Coates' passing.
Coates began his wrestling career by working several matches as an enhancement talent for WWE in 1989 and 1990. He then participated in over 30 enhancement talent matches for WCW in the early 1990s. During this time, he teamed with Helmut Hessler as the Storm Troopers in South Atlantic Pro Wrestling, where they held the SAPW Tag Team Championship in 1991.
In the early 2000s, Coates continued to work enhancement matches for both WWE and WCW. After a long hiatus from wrestling following 2002, he made a return in 2019 for a match at RAGE Wrestling Warriors and participated in a tag team match last March at the MATW Smashville Showdown.
On behalf of Rajah.com, we extend our condolences to the family, friends, and fans of Mr. Coates.
