Friday Night SmackDown Quick Recap for July 15, 2022

Matches Tonight: 4 (approx. 33 minutes)
  • Contender's Match: SmackDown Women's Champion Liv Morgan vs Natalya. Morgan picked up the win with her ObLIVion finisher. Nattie did not pop right up after this one. 8:17-8:26pm EST.
  • Singles Match: Aliyah vs Lacey Evans. Non-Match; Evans cut a heel promo on the crowd, told them to go to hell, and left. 8:52-8:54pm EST.
  • Singles Contender's Rematch: Drew McIntyre vs Sheamus. Ridge Holland fought Drew McIntyre instead as, for the second week in a row, Sheamus avoided a match with McIntyre. Despite attempts at interference from the Brawling Brutes, McIntyre overcame. 9:02-9:06pm EST.
  • Singles Match: Madcap Moss vs Theory. Moss won after Theory used the Money in the Bank (MitB) case as a weapon, causing the DQ. 9:25-9:38pm EST.
  • Singles Main Event Match: Jimmy Uso w/ Jey Uso vs Angelo Dawkins w/ Montez Ford. Solid match that saw Dawkins pull off the win. 9:47-9:54pm EST.
Miscellaneous Non-Match Segments of Note:
  • Opening Segment: Michael Cole opened us, in the ring, and announced Pat McAfee had signed a long-term contract; McAfee then cut a promo to the hot crowd, building towards his match at SummerSlam. Corbin responded via tron, and these two will face off two weeks from tomorrow. 8:01-8:11pm EST.
  • Special Guest Referee Revealed: Regarding SummerSlam's bout between the Usos and the Street Profits for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship, Hall of Famer "Double J" Jeff Jarrett was named the special guest referee at the end of our program. Makes sense, Nashville and all.
  • The New 'Raid': The New Day came out to the Viking Raiders entrance, dressed in viking garb, and did a great segment in which they mocked all things Vikings, cited they were ready for the Viking Raiders because they'd been playing a lot of Assassins Creed: Valhalla, and eventually both teams clashed. The New Day were ready, however, and Xavier blew a viking horn to "call for reinforcements" in the shape of Jinder Mahal and Shanky! The four chased off the Viking Raiders. 8:37-8:42pm EST.
  • Next Week on SmackDown: Brock Lesnar returns to SmackDown; Ronda Rousey face-to-face with Liv Morgan ahead of their championship match.
