Friday Night SmackDown Quick Recap for May 6, 2022
Matches Tonight: Four (approx 34 minutes)
- Singles Match: SmackDown Champion Charlotte Flair vs Aliyah. Flair cut a promo before the bell that led Rousey to come out. Match never occurred as Flair/Rousey brawled. 8:04-8:08pm EST.
- Singles Match: Sasha Banks w/ Naomi vs Shayna Baszler w/ Natalya. Natalya helped Baszler win by holding her feet down during a roll-up. 8:18-8:27pm EST.
- Singles Match: Drew Gulak vs WALTER w/ Marcel Barthel. WALTER picked up the easy win over Gulak. For those who will inevitably cry about it, WALTER = Gunter and Marcel Barthel = Ludwig Kaiser. 8:51-8:54pm EST.
- Tag Team Tables Match: the New Day vs Sheamus & Ridge Holland. This was the first tables match on SD in two years. Holland & Sheamus won when "the Butcherweight" Pete Dunne returned. (Note: See above comments regarding names). 9:03-9:16pm EST.
- Main Event Singles Match: Sami Zayn vs Shinsuke Nakamura. Zayn won via count-out. 9:35-9:44pm EST.
Miscellaneous Non-Match Segments of Note:
- Opening Brawl: Instead of the advertised singles match, Flair and Rousey brawled to opened our show. 8:08-8:12pm EST.
- Happy Talk: Four minutes of life I can never get back. Corbin and Moss exchanged a few sad jokes. That's it. 8:39-8:43pm EST.
- The Bloodline Meet Their Foes (Main Event Segment): Entrances began at 9:45, but the segment properly began at the time listed. RK-McBro (their name, not mine) cut a promo "acknowledging" stupid topics, such as McIntyre and Orton's past singles history and that Orton had "better legs" than McIntyre. The Bloodline came out and both team brawled us off the air. 9:53-9:58pm EST.
- Next Week: The Boss & Glow defend their tag championship against Shayna Baszler & Natalya.
