Jim Ross Likely Signing Multi-Year Contract With AEW; News on AEW's TV Deal

Jim Ross' contract with WWE is coming to an end later this month and as he noted on his latest "Ross Report" podcast, the two sides are not extending the agreement and he will officially be gone from the promotion as of April. According to multiple sources close to the situation, even though the two sides ended their relationship on amicable terms, Ross' departure has been a foregone conclusion for months and he hasn't been in WWE's plans since last year - with the company not even inviting him to the Smackdown 1000 show/celebration in October.

As I tweeted yesterday (follow me at @RajahNews), a key source adds that once his deal with WWE is officially over, Ross is going to be signing a new multi-year contract with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) that will be worth very close to $1 million annually. From my understanding, the deal will run for a guaranteed three years with likely options to extend. With that sort of money involved, it is expected that JR will play a key role in AEW operations, in line with previous reports.

Also for what it's worth, our AEW source was confident in stating that the promotion is very close to a TV deal for shows to air on TBS. I expect an announcement on that later this year, perhaps as early as the Double or Nothing show.
