Latest Update On David Finlay’s Contact With WWE Amid Free Agency

As previously reported, David Finlay is now a free agent after his NJPW contract expired earlier this month. The former leader of the Bullet Club had a farewell appearance at the NJPW New Beginning in Osaka show on Tuesday, February 10, following his loss to Callum Newman. Reports indicate that WWE has expressed interest in Finlay.

According to Fightful Select, there has been communication between Finlay and WWE, though sources mention that he is not currently included in any creative plans. The exact timeline of the contact between Finlay and WWE remains unclear. However, Finlay has several options, as NJPW is actively trying to re-sign him. Additionally, there are unconfirmed speculations that he may join AEW, where many of his former Bullet Club allies, such as Clark Connors, are currently wrestling.

Finlay has been with NJPW since 2015 and is a multi-time champion, including being a two-time IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion. He also competed on AEW Dynamite in 2022 as part of the AEW and NJPW partnership, where he lost a singles match to "Hangman" Adam Page.
