-- After signing with AEW months ago and fully healthy for the first time in over a year, Mercedes Mone (fta as Sasha Banks in WWE) is finally ready to wrestle her first match with AEW this Sunday at Double or Nothing when she faces Willow Nightingale for the TBS championship.
-- Speaking to The Ringer, Mone commented that she feels more excitement than pressure for her debut AEW match noting that while there are nerves at play, she is confident that she and Nightingale will be able to steal the show at the PPV.
"I don’t want to put pressure on myself because I’ve been doing this for 14 years. I have more excitement than pressure, but I am really nervous as well, just because it’s been a year since I performed, but being in the ring with someone like Willow Nightingale, I know it’s going to be absolutely everything I’ve ever dreamed of. We’re going to go out there and steal the show."
-- Speaking on her decision to leave WWE, Mone said that she doesn't like to be "handcuffed" and the only way for her to grow was to experience change. Mone also noted that she's eager to show fans who the "CEO" really is as if they have only really seen "The Boss" and that ultimately she is ready to show that she's the "greatest women's wrestler of all time."
"They haven’t really got to see the CEO. They know who Sasha Banks is, but the CEO, Mercedes Moné, [is] something they’ve never seen before, and I’m ready to show them. I’m the greatest women’s wrestler of all time, 100 percent."
