Maxwell Jacob Friedman has the biggest match of his pro wrestling career this Saturday night.
Ahead of his AEW World Championship showdown with Jon Moxley at Saturday's AEW Full Gear 2022 pay-per-view at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, MJF spoke with Alfonso A. Castillo of Newsday for an interview promoting the big event.
During the discussion, "The Devil" was asked for his thoughts on the big clash with the Blackpool Combat Club member at Saturday night's highly-anticipated show.
“Expect history being made," MJF vowed. "Expect the crowning moment of the guy who is going to bring professional wrestling back to the cultural zeitgeist."
MJF added, "I want to make professional wrestling something people have no choice but to talk about again. I feel like we’ve done an incredible job, the brand of AEW, in doing that in such an incredibly short period of time."
From there, the AEW veteran would go on to promise "greater things" to come from him and AEW in general if he emerges victorious and captures the AEW World Championship from Mox at AEW Full Gear 2022.
“The fact that MJF has only been on TV for three years, and the fact that I am getting reached out to by publications as incredible as yours, I think it’s very telling," MJF told Castillo. "I think there’s only greater things to come if I win that AEW world title, because I’m a guy who can wave the flag of this sport, and do it very well.”
