Monday Night Raw Quick Recap for April 18, 2022

Matches Tonight: 6 (approx. 49 minutes)
  • Women's Tag Team Championship Match: The Boss & Glow(c) vs Liv Brutally. Banks & Naomi retained and, as expected, Rhea Ripley turned on Liv Morgan after the match. Ripley beat Morgan, establishing herself as our newest heel. 8:24-8:32pm EST.
  • Singles Squash Match: Veer Mahaan vs Jeff Brooks. Mahaan squashed the local Buffalo talent and won via submission (clavicle clutch). Just like last week, Mahaan again applied the submission twice more after winning, tormenting the poor squishly. 8:50-8:51pm EST.
  • Singles Debut Match: Ezekiel(d) vs Chad Gable. Ezekiel won via DQ when Otis attacked just as he was about to make Gable tap. 9:13-9:17pm EST.
  • Non-Title Tag Team Match: Raw Tag Team Champions RK-Bro vs the Street Profits. The Profits won after having someone play the Usos theme to distract the champs. 9:28-9:36pm EST.
  • United States Championship Match: Finn Bálor(c) vs Austin Theory.Theory won and was honored by McMahon, the Hurt Business, the Alpha Academy, Azeez and Crews. 9:53-10:04pm EST.
  • Singles Main Event Match: Cody Rhodes vs Kevin Owens. Per their talk earlier in the night, Seth Rollins was allowed to choose Rhodes' opponent for the night. Rhodes won via count-out after KO left (Rollins called him fat and hurt his feelings.) 10:43-11:00pm EST.
Miscellaneous Non-Match Segments of Note:
  • Rollins & Rhodes Start Us Off: Rollins and Rhodes exchanged words, starting with words of mutual respect but culminating in a blind challenge for later tonight. 8:04-8:16pm EST.
  • Sonya Deville Addresses Her Actions: Deville attempted to explain her actions. She had to threaten to fire/strip the strap off Belair to prevent being attacked. Later that night, Pearce accused her of abusing power then fined Belair the whopping sum of one dollar, which she gladly paid in front of Deville to taunt her. 8:39-8:45pm EST.
  • Truth Be Told...: Kevin Owens looked to administer a lie detector test to Elias' younger brother, Ezekiel. Chad Gable administered the exam, which resulted with us learning the truth--that Ezekiel is the younger brother of Elias. 9:00-9:09pm EST.
  • Justification: Edge explained that Damian Priest was upset that Bad Bunny got all the glory at WrestleMania last year, even though Priest was the one who trained and carried him. Edge then stated that he was upset because it only took two years for the WWE Universe to start complaining that he's there too much/not enough/is a part timer. He's decided to not care what we think and will take back "the pinnacle of this industry" that he calls his "mountain of Magnificence". He challenged AJ Styles to a match at WrestleMania BackLash. 9:40-pm EST.
  • Wedding Crashers: R-Truth was slated to marry two couples--Akira Tozawa & Tamina and Dana Brooke & Reggie. The crowd hard-core heckled this segment which saw each person in the two couples winning the 24/7 title, only to have the segment end with Dana as the champ yet again. 10:15-10:25pm EST.
  • Next Week on Raw: Arm Wrestling Challenge: Omos vs Bobby Lashley. Sonya Deville vs Belair for the Raw title in Belair's hometown.
