As previously reported, former WWE and AAA star Alberto El Patrón was arrested in San Luis Potosí, northern Mexico, after his wife made an emergency call, reporting that she was a victim of domestic abuse.
According to Fightful.com, the San Luis Potosí State Attorney General’s Office has issued a statement regarding the arrest. The report noted that investigations were launched against El Patrón, who was transferred to the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Attention to Women, Family, and Sexual Crimes following his arrest. According to the victim, an argument erupted between them, resulting in El Patrón committing various physical and verbal assaults against her.
The Crash Lucha Libre also announced El Patrón's suspension in a statement, which was translated by Fightful’s Luis Pulido. They stated: “Through this medium The Crash Lucha Libre is a company with values that promotes sport entertainment in a family way, and disapproves any act of violence. For this reason we will suspend Alberto Del Rio “El Patron” from our programming after the recent events.”
El Patrón has faced previous allegations of domestic violence from his former partner, Paige (also known as Saraya), during their relationship. He was also arrested and charged with four counts of sexual assault and one count of aggravated kidnapping after allegedly assaulting a woman who he accused of infidelity. Reports indicated that he forced her to “wear a dress and dance for him” and violently sexually assaulted her over a span of 16 hours. Those charges were dropped in December 2021, reportedly after a witness went missing.
