WWE superstars Jade Cargill and Rhea Ripley are headed for a collision course at WrestleMania 42 next month but they have been in the news this past week for their interactions on social media instead.
As reported already, the issue started in an innocent manner when the two traded harmless jabs at each other before Cargill brought up Ripley spending hours talking to WWE's creative team, which reportedly upset Ripley.
PWInsider Elite reported that the situation was not something that was cooked up by WWE's creative team and the blame for the exchange going off the rails was primarily pinned on Cargill. The report added that this isn't the first time Cargill has upset her fellow wrestlers based on the manner she has conducted herself.
Piper Niven brought up the incident from late 2024 up in a tweet where Cargill suddenly disappeared off TV with some sources citing a legitimate injury while others stating that she was healthy and simply taken off TV. The PWInsider report claims that the real reason she "vanished" was to let some of the personal issues and tension with other wrestlers blow over.
Another source within WWE pointed out that while wrestlers are happy to do what the company wants of them to put Cargill over, many of them don't feel like she gives the same respect back, suggesting that Cargill has a tendency to be "insecure" despite having no reason to feel that way. In response to that, a different source stated that Cargill exhibits traits of a "Type A" personality.
WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select added that Cargill has definite heat within the women's locker room and that she is not everyone's favorite to work with given a series of injuries to talent that worked with her, however, WWE still sees her as a bonafide star and are trying to put her into situations where she will succeed.
