Earlier today, it was reported that WWE's current working plan is to have a new World Heavyweight Champion be crowned at November's Saturday Night's Main Event as Seth Rollins' shoulder injury will cause him to vacate the title or force WWE to strip him of the belt.
Fightfulselect.com reports that as of earlier this afternoon, WWE was discussing a battle royal for tonight's Raw whereby the winner would enter the World Heavyweight Title picture.
CM Punk, who was set to be Rollins' opponent at Saturday Night's Main Event, is likely to end up facing the winner of the battle royal. Whoever wins that singles match at SNME would then be crowned as the new champion.
