NXT Halloween Havoc Go-Home Live Results (Oct. 17, 2022) - Capitol Wrestling Center, Winter Park, FL

Pick Your Poison Match: Roxanne Perez vs Raw's Rhea Ripley w/ the Judgment Day

We open with a hot NXT Universe chanting as commentary (Vic Joseph & Booker T) welcomes us. We get straight to the meat of things and Rhea Ripley begins her entrance--accompanied by the Judgment Day in its entirety to a huge pop! Ripley soaks in the homecoming and the crowd pops big for the faction. Out next is Perez and we get our bell at 8:04pm! We start with the crowd absolutely loving Ripley and the Judgment Day, ripping off chants for them throughout this match. Perez and Ripley circle, with the veteran Powerhouse taking easy control over the smaller Perez. Perez attempts a headscissors but Ripley counters it. Perez with a slap that upsets Ripley, who unloads with clotheslines and forearms on Roxy. Rhea takes Perez to the corner and gets a huge "Rhea" chant. Ripley battles Roxy to the opposite corner, maintaining control as she uses a forearm shot to the lower back, pleasing the crowd (but Perez, not so much). Ripley mocks Perez and shoves her into the ropes; Perez with a forearm smash on the rebound. Perez chains together a few strikes and begins her comeback, sending Ripley flying across the ring with a Hurricanrana. Ripley escapes the ring and walks off as Perez looks for a suicide attack, stating she's not going to fall for that. Perez takes the fight to Ripley outside and eats the apron after an inverted Electric Chair facebuster! We go to our first break of the night at 8:08!
We return from the break and Vic Joseph informs us Ripley's maintained control throughout the break, describing her offense as "dissecting" Perez. Ripley mounts a prone, face-down Perez and rains blows down on the back of Perez's neck and head. Ripley taunts Roxy yet again. Ripley looks to stomp Perez, but Roxy dodges it three times before tripping up Rhea. Perez strings together enough offense to consider it a comeback. Perez looks for a submission but Ripley easily overpowers her and drops her down. Ripley contains Perez with one arm, but Roxy hits a jawbreaker desperately to gain some separation. Perez with a charging corner attack. Ripley dodges a second then looks for a spear but holy shit, Ripley misses Jade and the ring post and flies completely to the outside! Roxy follows it up with a diving attack to the outside and sends Ripley into the ring. Perez climbs the turnbuckles but Rhea's up and smacks her. Ripley climbs the middle ropes and threatens a Superplex. Perez wiggles free, ducking under Ripley's legs. Perez switches positions with Rhea and hits a Super-Rana! Perez covers for a close two. Perez charges Ripley, who counters with a slam and a close cover of her own. She argues with the ref and the crowd loudly chants "that was three." Ripley looks for the Riptide but Perez floats over. Perez with a spinning heel kick and looks for Pop Rox! Dominik Mysterio distracts Roxy, allowing Ripley to connect with the Riptide to pick up the win at 8:16pm to a huge pop.
Your Winner, Raw's Rhea Ripley! (12 minutes)

Singles Match: Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo w/ Tony D'Angelo vs Mystery Opponent

Time for our next match. Stacks is escorted out by D'Angelo, sporting a leg brace and a crutch. Tony D gets on the mic, stating its a big night for Stacks. "Now Stacks, before I introduce your opponent tonight, remember this is about earning respect." Lorenzo and the crowd demand to know who it is. "Allow me to introduce Stacks opponent tonight...when we come back from this commercial break!" Oh! And we cut to break to a huge boos! But that's okay, because when we return we hear the violin--it's Shinsuke Nakamura! The crowd flips out as the King of Strong Style returns to NXT! The crowd sings loudly to his theme even as the ref attempts to start things off. We get our bell at 8:28 and we're off! As Stacks and Nakamura lock up, the crowd loudly chants "welcome back" and spends large chunks of this match singing Nakamura's theme (and alternating the chant, too). They put Rollins' crowd-choir to shame. Nakamura takes it to Stacks, planting him face-first in the canvas before throwing multiple knees to the ribs. Nakamura fires off the Shin Kicks (my term) and the crowd pops. Nakamura teases Stacks with kicks until Stacks gets angry and chains together a few moves to loud boos. Stacks' stretch in control fades quick, however, as Nakamura uses a sliding German Suplex for a close cover. Nakamura hits a Kinshasa after a flying dragon kick to pick up the win at 8:33!
Your Winner, Shinsuke Nakamura! (6 minutes)

Singles Match: Alba Fyre vs Sonya Deville

Fyre makes her way out first and we head to break! We return as Sonya Deville makes her entrance to boos, and Vic Joseph calls up footage from last week when Deville assisted former Fire & Desire partner Mandy Rose's faction, Toxic Attraction, in decimating Fyre. We get our bell at 8:41pm! Fyre and Deville go at it briefly until Toxic Attraction's Jacy Jayne & Gigi Dolin hit the ringside area. Fyre and Deville spar, briefly, until Jayne & Dolin cause the DQ at 8:43.
Your Winner by DQ, Alba Fyre! (2 minutes)

After the Match: Mandy Rose Threatens Fyre with Fire

Deville and Toxic Attraction work over Fyre, ultimately restraining her with her own back as NXT Women's Champion Mandy Rose makes her way out. She threatens Fyre, but Fyre quickly fights off everyone and uses her bat to threaten Rose. Fyre poses in the ring with Rose's title. They'll face off Saturday at Halloween Havoc.

Locker Room Brawl

We cut to the back where Wes Lee and Oro Mensah are preparing for their match, hyping each other up. Trick Williams & Carmelo Hayes attack them, and the four brawl out to the ramp as we head to break! This match is next!

Tag Match: Wes Lee & Oro Mensah vs Trick Williams & Carmelo Hayes

We return from break at 8:49pm and are informed this match started just prior to our return. Wes Lee and Trick Williams battle it out in the ring as we do, with Williams using a pop-up uppercut to stun Lee. Williams gives way to Hayes and Oro Mensah tags in off of Lee. Mensah with a missile dropkick to Hayes! Mensah drops Hayes and looks for a springboard but Trick trips him up. Williams tags in and begins to work over Mensah. Oro fires off a kick; Williams catches it, wags his finger, but Oro Mensah hits an improvised standing Spanish Fly! Lee and Hayes are legal and battle it out, with Lee laying out the former North American champ with a running bulldog. Lee heads up top but, with the ref distracted, Williams shoves Lee off the turnbuckle! Mensah heads outside and takes it to Trick. Melo and Lee battle in the ring until Melo hits his top-turnbuckle diving Leg Drop on Wes Lee to pick up the win at 8:52pm!
Your Winners, Carmelo Hayes & Trick Williams! (3 minutes)

All Hell Breaks Loose

Von Wagner, Nathan Frazer and everyone involved in the North American Championship ladder match hit the ring and everyone brawls as we cut to a break.

Six-Man Tag Team Match: the Schism vs Cameron Grimes & Raw's the OC

We return to the CWC and find the Schism--Joe Gacy and the Diyads (aka the Grizzled Young Veterans)--hoisting up two fingers. Because the Bloodline the Ones, so the Schism the Twos. The OC are out next to a monster pop from the NXT Universe. All six men ready up and we get our bell at 9:01! Grimes starts off hot, eager to exact a semblance of vengeance of the Schism, who've been his bane for weeks. Grimes finds himself in the wrong corner as the Diyad work together to isolate Grimes and stomp away at him. Grimes fights them off as they attempt to use another blind tag/double-team effort, dropping both with a double-Tornado DDT! Anderson is tagged in and begins to punish the Diyad, looking for a cover quick and often. Big man Gallows is brought in and does his best Undertaker impersonation as he fires off a punch and thrust combo! Gallows follows it up with a pair of dropping elbows and a cover attempt of his own. The crowd stays hot for the OC throughout. Odd. The NXT feed cuts out (confirmed by a few other readers). When we return, the ref's lost control as the OC & Grimes clash with the Schism. The faces clear the ring and we go to a break with the six heading for another clash! During the picture-in-picture break, all six men brawl in front of the commentary table and all around the ring.
Gallows & Anderson easily handle Gacy and his Diyad with Grimes' assistance, ramming them into the barricades, each other (including a three-man spot in which all three members of the Schism were whipped face-first into each other) and generally beating their ass outside the ring. The action heads back in and Grimes finds himself caught off guard as the Schism work together to hit a three-man body-toss powerbomb! The schism take control, attacking Anderson on the apron and using the middle rope to choke Grimes as we return from break! Gacy comes in as does Grimes, and Gacy takes control. Gacy with a brutal suplex, then switches tactics, jawing off at Grimes while using slow, deliberate strikes to emphasize his statement. Grimes starts a small comeback, laying out Gacy with a spinning slam. Gacy tags out, as does Grimes, and Gallows starts to clear house as he lays out both Diyads! Gallows with a huge splash in the corner followed by a torpedo elbow! Gallows with a huge spinebuster to a great pop, and tags in Anderson. The OC look for the Magic Killer but Jagger Reid hits the ring in time to save Fowler. It's time for our ending as everyone begins hitting various signatures on each other, leaving us with Fowler and Anderson. Fowler recovers and the Diyad look to double-team Anderson, but Grimes catches them with a running Cave In! They clear the ring, allowing the OC to hit the Magic Killer and pick up the win at 9:13pm!
Your Winners, Cameron Grimes & the OC! (12 minutes)

Backstage Interview: Veer Mahaan

Veer's interviewed and asked about what he told Sanga last week (he whispered something in his ear, causing Sanga to leave the ringside). Sanga walks up, telling Veer he's "ready for this." Veer "knew (he) would" be and they head off, excusing themselves. Interesting.

Halloween Havoc Host Announced

And, as announced by Alicia Taylor, it's Shotzi once again! SmackDown's own Blackheart drives her tank out and enters the ring to a great pop. Shotzi hops on the mic as the crowd chants for her. This'll be her second time hosting Halloween Havoc. "Surprise," she says with an evil laugh as the crowd chants "welcome home." She states that "if there is one WWE Superstar that screams Halloween, it would be Shotzi, baby!" She recalls hosting the show in 2020 and says this Saturday, "we've got to even go more balls to the wall! I get the final piece of my costume this Friday when Raquel and I win the WWE tag titles off of Damage CTRL! And then I'm going to make this year's Halloween Havoc the most terrifying extravaganza in NXT history!" She howls at the moon and is interrupted by Xyon Quinn, who gets booed.
He welcomes her back "but if you want Saturday night to be 'box office,' I'll be your co-host. And I know what you're thinking, how could someone like me have the time of day to free up to be your host?" He tells her not to worry as he'll free up his time and asks her opinion. Before she can answer, "the Super Diva" Quincy Elliot comes out and introduces himself to Shotzi. "You're a ballsy-ass girl who ain't afraid to step on no toes! Well Shotzi," Elliot continues, "as much as I'd love to see Xyon Quinn in a Halloween costume, he's not your co-host. You need a bonafide Scream Queen" and invites her to ride down to the ring with the Super Diva. Quinn takes offense at this and Shotzi sets up a match between the two, with the winner co-hosting alongside her.

Singles Match: Quincy Elliott vs Xyon Quinn

We never get a bell but the two start fight at 9:29pm, sending us to a break as Quincy dances and Shotzi feigns spanking him. Quinn and Elliott alternate control frequently during this short match. Elliott shows off some impressive speed and agility for his physique, even hitting a spinning torpedo elbow. Quinn eventually flees the ring after failing to hoist up Elliott in a carry hold, collapsing as Elliott squashes him. Quinn exits the ring, looking for a steel chair, but Hank Walker--former NXT Security Guard, now NXT Superstar--shakes his head and won't let him! Elliott catches Quinn as he enters the ring and hits something akin to a Banzai drop in the corner to pick up the win at 9:36.
Your Winner and Halloween Havoc Co-Host, Quincy Elliott! (7 minutes)

Video: Chase U's History of Halloween Havoc

After Thea Hail flips out angrily over losing her match last week, Andre Chase restores order and discusses the history of Halloween Havoc, going back to the 80's. He skips over "the Yentel" and the Chamber of Horrors matches, purposefully, and discusses such iconic Halloween Havoc matches as Hogan vs Flair and Rey Misterio, Jr. vs Eddie Guerrero. Eventually Chucky (yes, the doll) interrupts, has words with Bodhi, and finally that crap's done with.

Pick Your Poison Match: Cora Jade vs SmackDown's Raquel Rodriguez

Raquel Rodriguez makes her way out for our final match of the night and poses, sending us to break at 9:Quinn and Elliott alternate control frequently during this short match.

Pick Your Poison Match: Cora Jade vs SmackDown's Raquel Rodriguez

Raquel Rodriguez enters and we head to a break at 9:39pm. After yet more hype for Saturday's Halloween Havoc, we return and get our bell at 9:45pm. Jade uses her quickness to dodge Raquel for a few moments, but Raquel quickly makes her pay for it when she gets a hold of her before hitting a Lawn Dart! Raquel makes a miscue and it opens her up to Jade, who strings together a few strikes before Raquel quickly takes control back. Booker T calls her Raquel Gonzalez--see, happens to the best of us. Jade fetches a weapon but the ref warns her, and she drops the black kendo. Raquel Rodriguez, however, has no qualms with a DQ and, in fact, uses the stick to beat the crap out of Jade, causing the DQ at 9:47pm! Perez hits the ring after the match, hugging it out with Raquel.
Your Winner by DQ, Cora Jade! (2 minutes)

Main Event Segment: The KO Show Comes to NXT!

Kevin Owens makes his way out to a nice welcome and we head to break at 9:51pm! When we return from break, Kevin Owens welcomes us to the KO Show. Our guests tonight are the stars of Halloween Havoc's main event--NXT Champion Bron Breakker and his opponents, Ilja Dragunov and JD McDonagh. We're reminded often that it's a triple threat match, meaning Bron can lose the title without being pinned or tapped. After Bron spends too-long posing with his belt, he takes a seat on a stool, as the others have. KO gets a pop and welcomes us to a very special NXT Edition of his show. "Now, I got a call from Shawn Michaels...asking me to come here and host the KO Show tonight" with the three stars fighting for the NXT title. He hypes Halloween Havoc will be on the Peacock, and states that HBK is the reason he's a wrestler so he's not turning him down. He turns his attention to teh NXT Superstars, stating his roll tonight is to keep the peace and ensure no one wrecks "Havoc." He doesn't like his odds as he feels one of the three persons in teh ring has already stirred the pot a lot, playing head games. He says the guy doing that is "nothing more than a huge creepy weirdo, and I"m talking about you, JD Mc-Don't-Doodle-Me! What's your deal?" Haha. KO moves his seat farther away from JD and states he feels like he needs a shower just looking at the camouflaged puffer-vest-wearing JD. JD states he's been on his best behavior--it wasn't he who attacked Bron or Ilja last week, it was the two of them that kept on "pounding their chest" and have forgotten all about JD.
Ilja reminds JD he was aiming for McDonagh last week but "hitting Bron was not a mistake!" He brags about standing over Bron's body as Breakker struggled to breathe and in that moment, Dragunov realized Breakker was human. He saw the chink in the armor (I thought we couldn't say that phrase anymore?) of a great warrior. He goes on to tell Bron that he'll "Feel it again--at Halloween Havoc, I'll capture the title that should have been mine in teh very first place!" Breakker gets on the mic, stating it'll be over his dead body. He praises Ilja as the Czar of Europe, but reminds him that Dragunov ate Breakker's spear last week. Bron feels for Dragunov for having to give up his championship due to injury, but states this Saturday, the title stays on his (Bron's) waist. KO speaks, telling them he sees what's going on. He again turns attention back to JD McDonagh. "This guy--and I use this term loosely--is trying to get to the point where you two guys tear each other apart" so he can walk in and steal the win. KO tells Breakker & Dragunov that nobody wants JD McDonagh as a champ. "Not me, not any former NXT Champion" and even states he spoke to JD's mom earlier, and she doesn't even want JD as champ.
JD tells KO he doesn't need anyone's approval, a friend, or a crappy little dog. He tells Dragunov that Ilja may have driven JD out of NXT UK, but JD's been planning for revenge and he wants to make Ilja see him with the title while dealing with a beating he'll "never overcome." KO again mocks JD for being creepy, and Ilja agrees. Dragunov tells JD that he'll always be a contender "but never, ever a champion!" Breakker tells Ilja "I'm gonna put your ass in the same category as him!" Ilja reminds Bron that the last triple-threat title match he was in, he lost the title, "so why don't you try to put me in that category right now?" Dragunov drops his mic, rises and takes off his blazer! Breakker and JD rise, as does KO. JD backs off to the corner. KO gets on the mic, apologizing to Shawn (Michaels), stating "I tried buddy!" He excuses himself out of the ring and Bron starts to brawl with Ilja! Security hit the ring and get beaten up by Bron. JD finally jumps in but eats Ilja's finisher! Ilja hoists the title up when..

"Mr. Money in the Bank" is Here!

Austin Theory heads out the ramp to a big gasp from the crowd, case in hand--and we're informed he can cash it in on the NXT Championship if he wants! We fade to black as Vic Joseph questions if Theory will do just that--this Saturday night at Halloween Havoc on the Peacock Network!

Next Week on NXT

It's "Tag Team Title Tuesday" as men's champs Pretty Deadly defend against Edris Enofé & Malik Blade and women's champs KC2 defend against Zoey Stark & Nikkita Lyons.

In Closing

And that does it for tonight's episode. What were your thoughts about tonight's show? Let us know down below. Stay safe out there, Rajahmaniacs. See you Friday night for SmackDown! And don't forget--Halloween Havoc is Saturday night!
