Rating News: Countdown to AEW Dynamite Strong; WWE Total Divas a Disaster

-- Last night's AEW special - the countdown to Dynamite - aired on TNT generated 631,000 viewers a pretty strong number considering a similar show before All Out only drew 390,000, however, that show did air on Friday and later in the evening than the primetime 8 PM timeslot that yesterday's show was in. This seems to bode well for tonight's Dynamite viewership numbers, which should easily exceed that.

-- On the flip side, WWE's Total Divas launched for another season featuring Ronda Rousey for the first time and the ratings there were a complete disaster. Total Divas only drew 252,000 viewers which is down over 50% from last year's season premiere and over 100,000 viewers less than any other previous episodes from last year as well over 150,000 viewers less than last season's finale. To put it bluntly, it was the lowest watched episode by far, setting an all-time futility record for the series. The only real difference other than the cast is that this season, Total Divas is airing an hour later in the night which will negatively impact ratings but not to the effect seen.
