WWE ran an angle this week on Raw where Seth Rollins was attacked by his fellow Vision stablemates in what looked like a convincing split. Further reports emerged that WWE hurried along this angle because Rollins suffered a shoulder injury during his Crown Jewel match against Cody Rhodes and in fact, was spotted wearing a sling on his left shoulder.
PWInsiderelite.com is reporting that there is a bit of an internal belief that Rollins may be headed for either shoulder or rotator cuff surgery; this hasn't been confirmed by WWE or Rollins, more that it is backstage chatter amongst other wrestles and employees. One high-ranking WWE employee shared that Rollins is hurt but did not provide details on how severe it is nor what the status of the World Heavyweight championship will be following his injury.
The report adds that others within WWE are taking a "wait and see" approach with Rollins considering he worked everyone with a fake knee injury only this past summer. It led to a situation backstage where many people within WWE felt lied to and distrusting of WWE creative, while also reducing morale.
However, those that believe this latest shoulder injury is legitimate point to the fact that if it wasn't, WWE would not have moved so quickly to have Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed turn on him and effectively end the Vision's run as a faction. It would also seem to put in serious jeopardy any immediate future matches for Rollins against CM Punk and Roman Reigns though the one positive out of the situation is that WWE has an opportunity to significantly push Breakker and Reed with Paul Heyman as their mouthpiece.
