Report: John Morrison Returning To WWE

It looks like Johnny Impact is no more, as John Morrison will be returning to World Wrestling Entertainment after nearly a decade away from the company. is reporting that John Morrison is coming back to WWE for the first time in eight years.

No contract details or start-date for the former Johnny Mundo from Lucha Underground and Johnny Impact from IMPACT Wrestling, however Dave Meltzer (DaveMeltzerWON) of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has gone on to confirm Mike Johnson's story at PWInsider.

The 39-year-old Morrison has worked for Lucha Underground, AAA, IMPACT Wrestling and several other wrestling promotions, as well as done film and TV work such as CBS' Survivor and the Netflix Film, Boone: The Bounty Hunter. (no, not Matt Boone)!

Morrison, real name John Hennigan, first arrived on the scene in WWE after winning a developmental contract with the company on the third season of their WWE Tough Enough reality show competition in 2002.

After a run in WWE's developmental territory at the time, Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), Morrison was called up to WWE in 2004 before starting a full-time run in 2005 that included work with Joey Mercury and Melina as part of MNM.

He would go on to form a team with The Miz as well, and would win the WWE Intercontinental Championship three times, the tag-team titles five times and even the ECW Championship.
