Terrifying Incident Takes Place During Indie Event As Wrestler Brutally Attacked

A major incident went down on Saturday during an indie wrestling event where a planned work turned into a shoot, sending one wrestler to hospital with severe injuries.

At a Knokx Pro event, MMA fighter Raja Jackson came out of the audience, entered the ring and attacked wrestler Syko Stu. Raja picked up Stu and slammed him down to the mat, knocking him out cold. However, even though Stu was completely disabled, Raja rained down on him with upwards of 20 punches before other wrestlers were able to come down and pull him away. Stu was taken to the hospital with serious injuries including broken bones and teeth. It is believed that Jackson coming down to attack Stu was part of the script, but the assault following was not. A video of the attack is below but note that viewer discretion is strongly advised as it is disturbing. There was a legitimate fear that Stu was going to die from his injuries as he was taken to hospital while unconscious and bleeding heavily.

There was an incident between the two before the event where Stu slammed a beer can against the side of Jackson's head. It is unclear if that spot was planned or not (it appears it wasn't) but the two were later observed apologizing to each other. Jackson was also streaming on a platform called KICK and prior to entering the ring and assaulting Stu, had noted that his plan was to hit the ring and land as many punches to Stu as he could before he would be pulled off. After the attack, Jackson was seen on KICK once again ranting about people taking advantage of him in a tirade that did not appear to be a work at all. KICK has since banned Jackson from their platform.

Raja Jackson's father - Quinton “Rampage” Jackson - released a statement regarding the incident:

"I want to clear up the misinformation about my son Raja. I’ve been confirmed that the wrestler ( Stewart Smith aka Syko Stu) is awake and stable. Raja was unexpectedly hit in the side of the head by him moments before Smith’s match, Raja was told that he could get his “payback”in the ring,i thought it was apart of the show. It was bad judgement, and a work that went wrong. Raja is a MMA fighter not a pro wrestler and had no business involved in an event like this. I don’t condone my son’s actions AT ALL! He suffered a concussion from sparring only days ago and had no business doing anything remotely close to physical contact. As a father, im deeply concerned with his health AND the well being of Mr. Smith. That being said I’m very upset that any of this happened, but my main concern now is that Mr. Smith will make a speedy recovery.I apologize on his behalf and to KICK for the situation."
