Tony Khan Comments On WWE Running Shows Directly Against His AEW Shows

WWE ran their NXT Battleground premium live event directly against AEW's Double or Nothing last night and Tony Khan not only noticed but he had some comments on the practice during the post-PPV media scrum when asked by a reporter:

"It’s pretty consistent. I’d say it’s the most consistent event head-to-head scheduling I’ve seen since Jim Crockett Promotions saw a lot of scheduling that went that way. And I can tell you this will go a lot differently than that did. Thank you for asking."

Last year, AEW ran their Worlds End PPV at the end of December in Orlando and WWE decided to run a house show in the same city, on the same day. While both events were deemed successful, AEW had then moved Collision off of Saturdays in which PLEs were held in order to avoid the same type of conflict. However, later this summer with AEW All In: Texas scheduled for a Saturday afternoon airing, WWE has announced three big shows that weekend and it's more than likely one of them, perhaps NXT Great American Bash, will once again be in direct competition.
