Tony Khan Media Call Notes: AEW In Australia, WBD Negotiations & more

-- AEW President Tony Khan participated in a media call ahead of Sunday's AEW All In London and shared some thoughts on the future of the company. Below are some highlights:

  • Khan didn't want to comment on the exclusive negotiating window between AEW and Warner Bros Discovery ending or whether he has negotiated with other companies but confirmed that he spent time with WBD's executive team including David Zaslav in Paris during the Olympics and that the relationship between the two sides has never been stronger.
  • When asked why Dynamite didn't air live in the UK on Wednesday where it was taped, Khan said it is "illegal" for AEW to do that given WBD's first rights to air and their majority (97%) contribution to TV revenue.
  • Khan confirmed that the Von Erichs would be in London for All In.
  • He declined to comment on whether AEW will be back in London in 2026 for All In, dodging the question by simply saying that he loves the city.
  • Gave credit to Kosha Irby, the COO of AEW, for bringing All In next year to Texas. He once again said that he "loves" Texas.
  • When asked about possible surprises during the Casino Gauntlet match, Khan avoided answering the question by simply saying that it is a match that he created while at Daily's Place and it's his most favorite one.
  • Khan confirmed recent reports that AEW is interesting in bringing a major event to Australia in 2025. He noted that the promotion is looking at various locations and hinted that an announcement could be coming soon.
