Former TNA World Champion Joe Hendry officially signed with WWE in mid-November, and reports at that time indicated that he was on a main roster deal.
According to Wrestlevotes Radio on Fightful Select, there have been discussions within WWE about Hendry potentially being called up to the main roster as part of the SmackDown brand. The report also noted that with WWE SmackDown set to move to three hours again in January, preparations have been made to bring more talent to the brand, and the USA Network is eager to have Hendry on board.
Furthermore, it was highlighted that even before leaving TNA and joining WWE, Hendry had already made significant appearances on WWE programming. He participated in both the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania this year, facing Randy Orton at WrestleMania. Additionally, he has been a regular presence on NXT TV and appeared on Saturday Night’s Main Event earlier this month. Most recently, Hendry fought The Miz on an episode of SmackDown in a Miracle On 34th Street Fight and emerged victorious from the match.
