WWE Backlash Reportedly Returning To Puerto Rico In 2026

According to POST Wrestling, sources have indicated that WWE Backlash is set to return to Puerto Rico in 2026. Although the exact date is not yet confirmed, a source familiar with the internal calendar has stated that it is listed for May 9th. Currently, this date is not on WWE’s official event schedule. If the rumored date holds true, it would likely be the next Premium Live Event (PLE) following WrestleMania 42, which is scheduled for April 18th and 19th.

There is no information yet on whether WWE will have Bad Bunny return for the event. Bunny, who is scheduled to headline the Super Bowl halftime show in February, was a significant part of WWE Backlash 2023. The report mentions that Bunny is set for the Debí Tirar Más Fotos World Tour but currently has no dates scheduled between March 1st and May 26th, making it possible for him to appear at Backlash.

Backlash marked WWE’s first PLE in Puerto Rico back in 2023 and was very successful, generating a gate of $1.45 million. The WWE SmackDown episode leading into Backlash 2023 also took place in Puerto Rico and grossed $1.048 million.
