WWE Files To Trademark The Name Of A Former WCW Pay-Per-View Event

According to Fightful.com, on July 22, WWE filed a new trademark application for the name "SuperBrawl," which is historically associated with WCW. The report also noted that WWE had previously filed for the "SuperBrawl" trademark last year, and that application remains active as of July 23. The reasons behind the recent submission of a second application for the trademark are unclear.

WCW utilized the SuperBrawl name for its pay-per-view events from 1991 to 2001. The final event, known as SuperBrawl Revenge, featured a main event match between Scott Steiner and Kevin Nash for the WCW World title.

Below is the description submitted to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO):

“Exhibition of professional wrestling events rendered through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing wrestling news and information through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information.”
