WWE FRIDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN RESULTS (2/10/2023)
This week's show kicks off with the usual "WWE Then. Now. Forever. Together" opening signature narrated by John Cena. From there we shoot into an in-depth video package looking at the last couple weeks of developments in The Bloodline story line, primarily the Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn dynamic, as well as the disappearance of Jey Uso.
After the package ends, we shoot into the regular SmackDown cold open while the official theme song for the weekly blue brand program plays. We then shoot inside the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT. as fireworks and pyro erupts and the camera pans the packed house.
Paul Heyman Drops Pearls Of Wisdom, Sami Zayn Confronts Him
Michael Cole and Wade Barrett welcomes us to the show. As the two are talking, in the background we hear Paul Heyman introducing himself. The camera then focuses on "The Wise Man" of The Bloodline, who is already standing in the ring holding the two Undisputed WWE Universal Championships.
Heyman says he's going to drop some pearls of wisdom for us tonight. He mentions how he doesn't give predictions, but rather, gives spoilers. He talks about ending The Undertaker's undefeated streak at WrestleMania and calling it in advance as an example.
He goes on to mention The Bloodline and The Island of Relevancy is under a two-prong attack. He mentions first the dynamic that features the former "Honorary Uce" Sami Zayn. He says our first spoiler of the evening is that Sami Zayn is not here this evening.
"The Wise Man" continues by explaining that not only are they under attack on SmackDown by Zayn, they are also under attack on Raw by the winner of the 2023 Men's Royal Rumble match, Cody Rhodes, whom he calls a "dumb ass."
As he continues to talk, out of nowhere, we see a man in a hoodie appear behind him in the ring. He takes the hoodie off and walks around Heyman, stopping to stare at the WrestleMania sign in the building. He turns and sticks his hand out. Heyman hesitates but eventually hands him the microphone.
Zayn mentions to Heyman that it's okay, he's not going to hurt him. He says he could if he wanted to, though, and no one would be there to help him or protect him. He says if this was a month ago, Solo Sikoa would have been out here already and he'd be on the ground. He said it's not though and says The Bloodline is falling apart.
He mentions leaving the group. He says Jey Uso did, too. He asks what he thinks Jimmy is going to do, stay with his abusive cousin or follow his twin brother. He tells Heyman that he knows what everyone else knows, which is that The Bloodline is on its' way out.
Sami Zayn goes on to reference Paul Heyman being a guy who provides spoilers, not predictions. He gives one of his own -- eight days until Roman Reigns loses his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, because he's coming for him and his titles at the WWE Elimination Chamber 2023 pay-per-view.
Paul sticks his hand out. Zayn yanks him in and hugs him. He holds onto him and says into the mic next to Heyman's ear to listen carefully. Reigns doesn't have to worry about losing his titles to Cody Rhodes, because he's going to take them when they meet at the WWE Elimination Chamber. He then walks off to end an awesome opening segment.
Drew McIntyre & Sheamus vs. Ashante "Thee" Adonis & Top Dolla
Backstage we see Ridge Holland and Butch helping Drew McIntyre and Sheamus get amped up before they head out to the ring for tag-team action. "The Celtic Warrior" and "The Scottish Warrior" begin heading out to the entrance towards the ring as we head to a commercial break.
When we return from the break, Hit Row are in the ring finishing up their entrance. The ring announcer introduces the team of Ashante "Thee" Adonis and Top Dolla, accompanied by B-Fab.
The theme for their opponents hits and out comes Sheamus and Drew McIntyre, as Michael Cole yells that it is, indeed, "FIGHT NIGHT!" on commentary. The two make their way to the ring as Cole and Barrett sing their praises.
As the two fan-favorites make their way to the ring, we see split-screen footage from earlier today that shows Hit Row confronting Adam Pearce and complaining about having to face late replacements in the SmackDown Tag-Team Title Contender Tournament because of McIntyre and Sheamus.
Back live, the bell sounds and we see Adonis and McIntyre kicking things off for their respective teams. McIntyre blasts Adonis with a big kick and then chases him out of the ring. On the floor, Sheamus chases him around the ring and then blasts him with a clothesline before rolling him back into the ring.
Once in the ring, we see Adonis connect with a drop-kick after Sheamus tags in. Sheamus fights back, however, and hits an Irish Curse back-breaker. He sets him up for the Ten Beats over the Bowery spot, but Top Dolla interferes, so "The Celtic Warrior" gets him with it instead. The fans count along as he hits past 20 consecutive shots.
We see a White Noise from Sheamus, followed up by a Claymore Kick and Brogue Kick for the pin fall victory. Total squash match here.
Winners: Drew McIntyre & Sheamus
The Viking Raiders To Drew McIntyre & Sheamus: "Next Week Is Destiny"
After the match, we see Valhalla and Ivar and Erik of The Viking Raiders appear on the big screen with a message for Drew McIntyre and Sheamus. Footage airs of the duo beating the fan-favorite duo down a couple of weeks ago.
We then hear that "next week is destiny" for the duo, as The Viking Raiders are coming for them. Sheamus and Drew McIntyre pound forearms in a sign of being ready for the fight in seven days. They play to the crowd to end the post-match segment.
Jimmy Uso Tries Getting Hold Of His Brother
Now we shoot backstage and we see Jimmy Uso by himself on his phone trying to get hold of his brother, Jey Uso, to find out about his whereabouts, as he is still missing and the two have a scheduled defense of their SmackDown Tag-Team Championships.
The Usos are scheduled later tonight against the winners of the aforementioned SmackDown Tag-Team Title Contender Tournament, Braun Strowman and Ricochet. He leaves a voice mail and asks him to get back to him when he gets it. We head to another commercial break.
Karrion Kross & Scarlett Talk Fatal-4-Way Match
We return from the break and we see in black-and-white, Karrion Kross and Scarlett backstage. Scarlett tells Kross he is going to win the Fatal-4-Way Intercontinental Championship match later tonight. She tells him he knows what to do, and she wants to hear him say it. He mentions how he is going to put Rey Mysterio down.
Jimmy Uso Still Can't Get Hold Of His Brother
From there, we head to the ring for our next match, but first, we see a split-screen shot of Jimmy Uso backstage again trying to get hold of his brother, Jey, to no avail. He leaves another message and looks more and more discouraged.
Deborah Harris vs. Lacey Evans
Now we head to the squared circle where Lacey Evans' theme hits. She makes her way down to the ring for our next bout of the evening. Already in the ring is her opponent, Deborah Harris.
The bell sounds and we're officially off-and-running with this one. We see Evans dominating Harris from the word "go," stopping to add insult to injury by gloating and doing push-ups in arrogant fashion.
She beats Harris down and climbs to the middle rope to taunt the fans. She then hits her finisher on Harris. She yells at her to "salute me!" She then locks in the inescapable cobra clutch. Harris taps out. Evans refuses to let it go. The crowd boos.
Winner: Lacey Evans
Backstage With Jimmy Uso & Paul Heyman
After the match, we head backstage again where once more we see Jimmy Uso failing to get a hold of his brother. The camera pans back a bit and we see Paul Heyman seated next to him.
Heyman brings up being held hostage in the ring with the psycho Sami Zayn earlier in the show, and asked Jimmy where he was, pointing out that nobody was out there to help him. Uso points to his phone and says he's been trying to get hold of his brother.
Uso again mentions how he can't reach him and tells Heyman to have his back in the match tonight. Heyman tells him he's gonna have to go it alone. Uso says his brother will be there.
Cole and Barrett promote The Usos vs. Braun Strowman & Ricochet for the titles coming up next. We head to another commercial break.
Adam Pearce Makes Match For Sonya Deville & Chelsea Green
We shoot backstage when we return from the break. We see Sonya Deville complaining to Adam Pearce about not being in the Women's Elimination Chamber. He tells her she was just in a championship match last week. Deville says they're two different things.
In comes Chelsea Green talking about needing to file a complaint against the Raw General Manager. Pearce points out that is also him. He then decides that the two will team up later tonight against two women who are in the Women's Elimination Chamber -- Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez.
And that is official.
SmackDown Tag-Team Championships
The Usos (C) vs. Braun Strowman & Ricochet
Now we head back inside the Mohegan Sun Arena where out comes the challengers for our next championship contest, the winners of the 2023 SmackDown Tag-Team Title Contender Tournament -- Braun Strowman and Ricochet.
The two settle in the ring and then out comes Jimmy Uso by himself. He settles in the ring as Michael Cole says, "We are the ONE," pointing out Jimmy appears to be going this one alone.
The ring announcer handles the formal pre-match ring introductions for this championship contest. She introduces the challengers first. When she goes to introduce Jimmy Uso as fighting by himself, Jimmy stops her and points to the crowd. We see Jey Uso emerge with a ton of energy. He heads to the ring and joins Jimmy.
We hear The Usos introduced and then we head to a pre-match commercial break.
As we return from the break, we immediately hear the bell sound and we see Ricochet and Jey Uso kicking things off for their respective teams. We see some back-and-forth action and then Ricochet settles into the offensive lead.
Ricochet tags in the big man and in comes Braun Strowman, who whips Jey Uso into the corner -- hard. He repeats this process a couple of times and then tags Ricochet back in. He whips his own partner into Jey in the corner and Ricochet goes for the cover. Uso kicks out after the count of two.
We see The Usos re-grouping on the floor briefly and then Jimmy Uso tags in and takes over for the defending champions. Jimmy and Ricochet lock-up and go at it. Ricochet starts hitting leg kicks on Uso. He brings him down to the mat and hits a standing moonsault for a near fall attempt.
The Usos start to gel as a unit, hitting some fast-paced double-team moves that shifts the offensive momentum in their favor. As Strowman and Ricochet re-group at ringside, we see the champs confidently staring them down from inside the ring as we head to a mid-match commercial break.
As we return from the break, we see The Usos on the wrong-end of a beat down, as Ricochet fires up and goes on an offensive spree. Strowman tags in and adds to the offensive lead before bringing Ricochet back in. He holds Ricochet on his shoulders in the same spot that won them this title shot in their tournament final against Imperium.
Ricochet hits the senton off the shoulders of Strowman. He goes for the cover on Jimmy but Jey breaks things up. Moments later we see a ton of back-to-back near-finishes, and the match culminates with an Uso Splash by Jey off the top-rope for the pin fall victory.
Winners and STILL SmackDown Tag-Team Champions: The Usos
Rey Mysterio Determined Ahead Of Tonight's Main Event
We shoot backstage and see Rey Mysterio talking directly into the camera. He sends a message to Karrion Kross and vows to emerge victorious in the Fatal-4-Way Intercontinental Championship Eliminator main event. After this, we head to another commercial break.
Jey Uso Hasn't Made Decision About The Bloodline
As we settle back in from the commercial break, we see an energetic Jey Uso walking with Jimmy Uso backstage, reassuring him that he is his twin and that he would never leave him hanging.
Jimmy stops and tells Jey things have been crazy since he's last been around. He asks if he's "in" or "out" in The Bloodline. Jey says he hasn't decided yet and walks off.
Paul Heyman was shown in the background behind a wall sneaking a listen to this. He then asks Jimmy if that was Jey. Jimmy says it was. Heyman asks if he said anything. Jimmy says he didn't. He says he just walked off.
Ronda Rousey, Shayna Baszler Attack Natalya
Now we settle inside the arena where Natalya is in the ring with a microphone. She mentions how she's been dealing with Shayna Baszler breaking her nose and being in her business. She then mentions the Elimination Chamber.
Nattie calls Baszler a "knock off Ronda Rousey." Out comes Baszler and the fans chant "Knock off Ronda!" at her. Baszler gets on the mic and says she's been doing this since before Ronda was around. She says she was winning titles in this company before Rousey arrived.
Ronda Rousey's theme then hits and out comes the women's MMA legend. She and Baszler end up beating down Nattie. Shotzi runs out but the two guzzle her up as well. Ronda holds the arm of Nattie and Baszler runs in and blasts her with the same knee that broke her nose months ago.
Sami Zayn Approaches Jey Uso Outside
We shoot backstage and then outside and see Jey Uso walking by himself. He walks past a long truck and then gets to the end and turns, and we see Sami Zayn standing there. Sami tells him he knows Jey is going through a lot. He tells him what he did for him weeks ago meant a lot to him.
Sami tells Jey that things are going down and he doesn't have to go down with the ship. He says there is a way out for him. He just wanted to let him know that. He then closes by telling Jey, "I acknowledge you." He puts his hand up for a fist-bump.
"Sami, you better get outta here with that, man," Jey replies. Sami stares at him and Jey pounds fists with him. Sami walks off and we head to another commercial break.

Things build to the finish, which sees Moss connect with a flying elbow smash for a pin fall victory. With the win, Moss earns the I-C title shot against GUNTHER on next week's show in Montreal.
Winner and NEW No. 1 Contender to Intercontinental Championship: Madcap Moss
Paul Heyman With A Message For Jimmy Uso
We shoot backstage and see Jimmy Uso standing by himself when Paul Heyman approaches him with a message from "The Tribal Chief" Roman Reigns.
He says Reigns wants Jimmy and Jey to stay home next week and watch the show on television because when you watch it on TV, like he did tonight, you see things that you don't necessarily catch when you're there live, such as Jimmy and Jey's conversation backstage after their title defense earlier in the show.
Jimmy clearly picked up on this. Heyman smirked and smacked Jimmy on the arm about 5 times before walking away in cocky fashion as the show fades to black. Thanks for joining us!
