WWE Hall Of Famer Kurt Angle Says He Would Have Loved To Work With CM Punk

WWE Hall of Famer and Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle recently took to his "The Kurt Angle Show" and took part in a fan Q&A session, where he answered a bunch of questions, including if Angle could have had a long-running program with anyone in history, who would it be and had Kurt Angle not left WWE in 2006, is there anyone that left before him in 2017 that he would have wanted to face.

Below are the highlights from Kurt Angle's recent fan Q&A session:

On if it is true that when you got moved to ECW you were going to have a run with the ECW title:

“Yes, it was true, but it didn’t happen because I got injured and I was having a difficult time staying healthy. When I lost the title at WrestleMania 22, they put me in ECW and they wanted me to have a title run there, but I made some poor decisions. I failed a drug test. I got suspended for a month. So, there wasn’t going to be a World Title for me in ECW. After that, when I came back, I pretty much left WWE at that particular time and never looked back.”

On if you could have had a long-running program with anyone in history, who would it be against:

“Bret Hart because I believe he’s the greatest wrestler of all time. I believe that his in-ring performance, there was nobody better. I would say Shawn Michaels and Chris Benoit were close, even myself, but I still put Bret up there. Don’t get me wrong, Ric Flair needs to be up there too because he’s the man and his technique was far superior. Ric was a great wrestler that could get people interested in the psychology of the match, but he was also very entertaining. He took a lot of crazy Ric Flair bumps, the forward bump, the bump off the top of the rope. You knew when he was going to do it, and you wanted him to do it. He was different in his technique. Bret Hart was the best overall technician I’ve ever seen in my life.”

On if you had not left the WWE in 2006, is there anyone that left before you in 2017 that you would have wanted to face:

“That’s a tough one. I never talked to him. I don’t really know him, but I watched his wrestling and I really appreciated it and that is CM Punk. We would have had a great match, it would have been incredible. I would have loved to work with him, he’s fire with promos.”

On if you preferred your TNA theme or WWE theme song:

“I loved them both. I didn’t pick my WWE song. Vince McMahon picked it for me. I picked my TNA song. It was a spinoff of the movie, ‘Vision Quest’. The song is called ‘Lunatic Fringe.’ It’s an amateur wrestling movie. I’m a big fan of amateur wrestling, obviously. I decided to use that melody in my mix. I had John Cena’s cousin, Tha Trademarc, do the rapping. He was awesome. It was a bada*s entrance song. Which one did I like better? I still like my WWE theme song. I think it fits me perfectly.”
