WWE Has Reportedly Extended An Offer To Chris Jericho For Retirement Storyline

Chris Jericho's AEW contract is expected to expire in the coming weeks and his future plans in wrestling have been in and out of the news recently as a result. A report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter suggests that a big move has been made.

In the report, Dave Meltzer noted that WWE has made an offer to Jericho for a return and a retirement storyline that would play out next year though it's unclear if that means Jericho is now officially a free agent. Meltzer also pointed out that the decision is entirely up to Jericho but he has dropped hints indicating that he is leaning towards returning to WWE rather than re-signing with AEW and that some people expected that Jericho will be popping up in WWE early next year.

Jericho hasn't wrestled in AEW since April, choosing instead to take some time off and focus on other initiatives. As his absence extends through the year, speculation began mounting that he was looking to leave AEW for WWE to complete a final run, beginning at the Royal Rumble where he could return as a surprise entrant.

Meanwhile, AEW President Tony Khan has repeatedly gone public in interviews stating that he would love to have Jericho back on TV with AEW keeping the door open, but stopped short of giving any sort of prediction on whether that would happen or not.
