WWE held a mandatory meeting this past week for all wrestlers where they discussed the various medical techniques that are currently being used by athletes to help them recover.
PWInsiderelite.com first reported that the meeting was held over Zoom and touched on PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapy) and stem cell therapy, while bringing talents up to date on scientifically proven techniques and therapies.
The meeting was more of an information session designed to educate wrestlers and help them understand legitimate treatments that have been proven to work versus those that don't have (enough) data yet to back them up. Ultimately, the company's goal was to help wrestlers make "informed decisions" if and when they explore treatment options to help with recovery from injuries. It was stressed that it was not something WWE was either supporting or pushing them away from.
Fightfulselect.com added that the meeting was with WWE's medical team and that wrestlers found the session "enlightening", with the company noting that they may even end up working the stem cell company that a lot of wrestlers have been going to in Cancun. Rey Mysterio is one wrestler who most believe extended his career many years by undergoing stem cell therapy.
