As previously reported, Danhausen's AEW contract is scheduled to expire in February 2026, which will make him a free agent. However, there appears to be a division within WWE regarding his potential signing.
According to WrestleVotes Live (via F4WOnline.com), opinions vary within WWE about bringing Danhausen on board. There are supporters in the company who would like to see him join, believing in his talent, while there are also detractors who are not as enthusiastic about him. The report indicates that it remains unclear where WWE will stand when Danhausen becomes a free agent, although an offer is likely given his popularity and talent. Still, some individuals within WWE may not fully appreciate what he brings to the table.
Wrestling Observer Newsletter's Dave Meltzer noted earlier this year that one of Danhausen's fans is WWE legend and TKO board member Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. However, it is uncertain whether this will enhance Danhausen’s chances of getting signed by WWE.
Danhausen has not appeared in AEW or ROH since Final Battle 2024, nearly a year ago. AEW reportedly extended his contract due to an injury, despite having "absolutely no plans" to utilize him. Danhausen hinted at his status with AEW and ROH on social media by posting an image on December 15.
