Last Friday's episode of WWE Smackdown averaged 1.147 million viewers, a marginal drop from 1.182 million from the prior week. In the 18-49 demo, Smackdown drew a 0.29 rating which is a slight improvement from 0.28 last week.
Smackdown led the way on the nightly cable charts, helping USA finish first while the show ranked third overall. All this despite going up against game one of the MLB World Series which drew an audience of 12.5 million and a 2.53 rating to finish first overall. It was the most watched opening game of the World Series in the last seven years and even the pre-game show was watched by 7.25 million people while scoring a 1.3 rating, finishing second.
