Sorry if this question seems random, at the WWE Vengeance 2007 PPV during the Chavo vs Jimmy Yang match it showed Dean Malenko backstage watching the match on a monitor. My question is do you think Dean Malenko was set to come out of retirement and possibly feud with Chavo, but due to what happened with Benoit that night, his comeback never happened?

Cewsh: Unfortunately, the dream of a Dean Malenko infused Crusierweight division was never in the cards. Dean was there as part of an angle where several former champions were highlighted as being in the arena and in the crowd in order to establish the significance of the titles. It would appear that Dean watching the Crusierweight title match just meant to show a former champion watching the current stars with interest. The Ice Man hasn't wrestled since 2001.

Do you know any details on Brock Lesnar's new WWE contract besides that he is signed through Wrestlemania 31? I hope to see him more than we did. I'm hoping him on around 5 ppvs this year with at least 3 Raw's before each ppv he is scheduled but perhaps that is wishful thinking.

Cewsh: The Wrestling Observer has this to say:

WWE has signed Brock Lesnar to a new two-year deal. While the financial details were not disclosed, it is believed that the new deal is similar to the one he signed for this year. That means a limited TV schedule, and 3 to 4 PPV matches a year.

I know we always complain that the WWE writers are idiots and don't know what they are doing because storylines always seem to be worse than what we think should happen. But why is that? Why do the writers always seem to do the most stupid thing with the storylines? They cant all really be idiots, haha, so why?

Cewsh: Imagine that you have cat. It's pretty easy to take care of because it's just one cat. You feed it, empty the litter box, and it's good. Simple, right? Now imagine that you have 20 cats. While the underlying needs are the same, you are now constantly beset by things that demand you attention, and have to find ways to take care of multiple cats at once without neglecting any of them long enough for them to starve or get mad enough at you to piss in your shoes. It requires endless effort and concentration to do even somewhat competently, and if your cats are well behaved and well taken care of, they'll get all the praise, not you.

That's what being a WWE writer is like. When we fantasy book particular storylines, we're taking care of one cat. When you have to juggle a promotion full of storylines with 10 hours of programming to fill, you're taking care of a plague of cats. A PLAGUE OF CATS.

No wonder they all wind up crazy.

Hello! Big fan of the website!

My question to you: if you had the power to create the Wrestlemania 29's matchup card, what matches would you have put together?

Cewsh: Tatanka vs. Bobby Lashley. 3 Hour Iron Man Match.

It is something I have always wondered, as far back as her Heel turn in December 1999. We know Stephanie McMahon-Levesque, has a couple of varied roles in the WWE and is paid in the region of over 500,000 per yer. What I wanted to know, is she paid extra on top of this salary for her television appearances. The same would apply to Linda, Vince and Shane, or do they just take one for the family stone?

Cewsh: Backstage personnel, including the McMahon family, that appear on screen have separate contracts as backstage employees and as performers.
