Why Mysterio Missed Raw, Great American Bash Main Event, SmackDown Rating

-- Rey Mysterio missed this past week's edition of Raw because he hasn't fully recovered from his torn biceps injury a few months ago, which got infected and required more surgeries after the original. However, they didn't want to hold off his debut of being a new star on Raw, so he shot an angle with Santino Marella last week and worked an easy match on Monday in which he wasn't required to do much. Mysterio should be back full-time in a few weeks.

-- Mysterio was also nominated for the American Latino TV awards in the "Favorite Extreme Athlete" category -- the only sports category. He has a good shot of winning, as the other nominees are the Austin, Texas Rollergirls, skydiver Jonathan Tagle and martial arts fighter Jennifer Santiago. The winner is being selected via online voting. The awards show is being syndicated in various markets starting today.

-- The actual rating for last night's edition of SmackDown has yet to come out, but it should end up being the highest rated broadcast in a while. Based on the fast nationals, last night's show drew 680,000 more viewers than the prior week. They were also up 20% in the 18-49 demographic as it was the high rated show for the night in that demo. Last week's show drew a 2.3 rating.

-- The Triple H vs. Edge WWE Championship match is pretty much certain to be in the main event position tomorrow night at The Great American Bash.
