WWE House Show Results (7/25/08) - Youngstown, Ohio

Missed the first match, as traffic was terrible outside...

Johnny Curtis def. Matt Stryker (backslide pin- Stryker did a good job getting the
crowd fired up, and they (the crowd) were into this match big time.

Lance Cade def. D-Lo Brown (This was probably the slowest match of the night- a
yawner, although the crowd was happy to see D-Lo back.)

Mickie James def. Beth Phoenix and retains WWE Women's Title (Santino came out to
console Beth after the loss; Mickie hit a big DDT out of nowhere to get the fall.
Santino says that Beth only lost because she's been distracted by what happened
between them on Raw. Santino and Beth kiss again(like Monday on Raw), only this
time, Beth plants the kiss on Santino. This rolls into Santino saying that he was
going to retire a certain wrestler to make her feel better. Out comes Hacksaw Jim
Duggan to a huge pop. As Santino is taking off his shirt to start the match, his
back is turned. He doesn't see Hacksaw in the three point stance. The bell rings,
Hacksaw hits the big clothesline, and gets the quick fall. Santino is so out of it
afterwards, that Beth throws him over her shoulder and carries him to the back!)
Hacksaw Jim Duggan def. Santino Morella

Intermission

Start out 2nd part of the show with Layla talking on the mic. She was the selected
"host" of the night. She's interrupted by Jamie Noble. He says that he wants to
have a match if there's time. After some coaxing by the crowd, Layla agrees to give
Jamie the time. Just then, Kane's music hits.

Kane def. Jamie Noble (total squash- Chokeslam and 3 count in about 10 seconds)

6 Man Tag Match
John Cena & Cryme Tyme def. Y2J, Ted Dibiase Jr. & Cody Rhodes (Cena put Dibiase in
the STFU and he taps out.)
Y2J received a TON OF HEAT at this show! He started out by blaming all the fans for
what he did to Shawn Michaels at the Bash. The fans responded with relentless "HBK"
chants. One fan in the front row was thrown out after an extremely heated argument
with Y2J, Lance Cade, Rhodes & Dibiase. Cena grabbed the mic and said that Jericho
should learn before he gets his ass beat by one of Youngstown's finest.

CM Punk def. Batista and retains the WWE World Heavyweight Title (All during the
show, fans could text to vote for either a Falls Count Anywhere, Best 2 out of 3 or
a No DQ Match. 73% vote was for the No DQ Match. There was a lot of good action
outside the ring, chair shots, etc. I was impressed with the effort on this match
considering it was just a house show.)

All in all, it was a really enjoyable show. There's not a bad seat in the Chevrolet
Centre. The WWE did a real nice job keeping the fans involved throughout, and
everyone was really feeling it tonight.
