RAW Report 6/28/10 Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

This week’s RAW start with video of the NXT rookies beating down Vince McMahon last Monday.

Cole talks about how far reaching this attack has been. No comment from the McMahons. The group now wants to be referred to only as Nexus. Wade Barrett’s been called to the carpet at WWE Headquarters in Stamford. The new GM isn’t there personally, but is involved.

Sheamus out to the ring and received huge heat. He says he’s seen the footage of the severe beating of VKM and is disgusted by what happened. He felt that as WWE Champion he should come out and make a statement for the company. That statement is, “The Champ is here!” Even more heat for Sheamus, he’s all smiles. Even though those Nexus lads got involved in the match, he still would have beaten Cena. It’s unfortunate what happened, but one important factor came out of this and that’s that Cena’s not number 1 contender for the championship. That’s because he used his rematch clause. No longer does he have to see those tacky orange t-shirts. No longer does he have to listen to those never give up slogans of his. No longer does he have to listen to them chant, ‘Cena’ like a bunch of parrots. No longer does he have to listen to Cena make fun of his beautiful skin, by calling him ‘a human jar of mayonnaise.’ Sheamus sneered while saying that, but the fans love it. Sheamus says he hates Cena. But Cena can get to the back of the queue because he’ll never get a shot at his title ever again. Cena’s music hits and he came bouncing out. Into the ring Cena’s still all smiles. Sheamus asks what he’s doing there, he’s not getting a shot at the title or him again. Cena says he knows, he’s not out for that. He came out to ask Sheamus for help. Everyone saw how he won the WWE Championship, then kept the Championship. It’s that group of gibrones who call themselves the Nexus. They targeted him as Champ and almost ended his career. So who do you think they’re coming after next? Nope, it’s not Don Rickles, it’s the human jar of mayonnaise! Philadelphia’s own giant block of cream cheese. That would be the WWE Champion. He wants to keep his title? Then help Cena. Start off RAW the way they should. Fighting side by side rather than each other. Ding-Ding, Cole gets up and says he has an email. Cole now steps up to a podium with the laptop set up and some sort of emblem on the from we can’t see. He also puts on his glasses to make it look more professional. He asks for attention please! The GM sent “I will wait until next week to take action against Nexus, giving Wade Barrett time to make his case to WWE Officials. As far as tonight it concerned, if any member of Nexus makes contact with any member of the WWE roster, they will be fired. If any member of the WWE roster makes contact with any member of Nexus, they will be suspended.” Cena says thanks a bunch Mr. Anonymous GM! His plan’s completely ruined. Its not all lost, they’ve learned a lot about Sheamus. He’s not just all pale skin and the worst hair cut since Kid N Play, but he did learn some great dance moves from House Party 2 and 3. But we learned that Shamus’s a good dude. A guy who’s thinking RAW with a brawl, but we can’t so we should start RAW with a WWE Championship Match. Ding-Ding, Cole says the GM has informed him that Sheamus will be in action tonight, however against Mark Henry. Cena slammed down his hat and yelled, “Baloney, fudge and mustard!” Cena’s life is being ruined by the internet. His life hasn’t been this bad since his mom cancelled his subscription to Warcraft. Cena says to have the GM email him personally, his address is… Candypants554@gmail.org. Ding-Ding, Cole says a new PPV will be MITB, and then he explains how it all works. The 8 in the match will be revealed tonight. The new GM would like to demonstrate. Sheamus says demonstrate all they want, he’s out of there. Ding-Ding. Sheamus halfway up the ramp and a cage starts coming down. Ding-Ding. Since their match was interfered with, Sheamus will face Cena at the MITB PPV inside a steel cage! Cena, still in the ring loves this and poses to his music. Sheamus, on the ramp, looks pissed. The cage finishes lowering.

The Hart Dynasty out to the ring with Natalya. Just as they were on the apron, the Usos and Tamina attacked them. The Hart Dynasty left in puddles outside the ring as they backed up the ramp. Natalya started moving so Tamina ran back down. Tamina rolled her in, set her up and climbed. Tamina splashed Natalya and left again. Video of the attacks. They’re still on the ramp as Kidd and Smith go check on her.

Backstage Josh is with R-Truth. He asks what actions should be taken against Nexus. R-Truth says they’re acting like wild, untamed animals. Don’t fire them. Leave them in the WWE zoo because he’s the zookeeper and that’s the truth!

Slam Of The Week - RAW Viewer’s Choice. Santino and Kozlov in a dance contest. Kozlov won. Santino and Kozlov shook, then danced, then Kozlov pushed Santino down.

Kozlov in the ring. If Santino can beat Kozlov, then Kozlov agrees to be his partner. Santino out to the ring, all smiles.

Santino with his arms around Kozlov from behind, but nothing. Santino goes for a punch, hits Kozlov’s hand and it hurt. Santino went for a submission and impressed Kozlov. Kozlov locked up Santino’s arms, head butted him and took him down for two. Arm lock around Santino’s waist, Santino took him down and got the three.

- Winner: Kozlov

Kozlov posed, then pulled Santino to his feet. Santino fell forward. Kozlov pulled him up again and he flopped down again. Kozlov left the ring. Regal passed Kozlov on the ramp, shook his hand, then Regal in and attacked Santino while he was down. Kozlov rushed back in, took Regal down. Regal fled. Kozlov grabbed Santino and carried him up the ramp over both shoulders, huge smile on Kozlov’s face.

Josh backstage with Khali. Josh asks what actions should be taken against Nexus. Ranjin says that Khali is a big, stupid giant. That his manager is tired of protecting him. If Nexus came up right now, Khali would run like a kabuter (?). Ranjin walked off and Khali was confused, repeating the last word Ranjin said.

Voting for NXT starts tomorrow at 10pm Eastern time.

Justin announces tonight’s Special Guest Host. Rob Zombie comes out looking as he normally does. He grabs a mic and gives a cheap pop. He’s there because he loves singing twisted things, like the sick twisted things that happen in that ring. Possibly like a MITBLM. He has the list of the wrestlers in the PPV Match, top secret, only he know. The first is Randy Orton, his face shows up on the tron, good pop. The Miz, decent heat. R-Truth, some pop. Chris Jericho, great heat. Evan Bourne, good pop. Ted DiBiase, solid heat. John Morrison, huge pop. This guy, Edge, some heat. Then Edge’s voice calls to Rob, he’s on the tron. He asks how Rob’s been? He hasn’t heard from Rob since he called him personally to tell him Edge was dropping his song as his entrance music. Rob says he wants to set the record straight between him and the old man up there. He says he took his song back from Edge because he didn’t want Edge to destroy it any longer. That’s it, goodbye. Edge asks if he scared away the astrograph. What matters is he won his first MITBLM and then cashed it in on Cena to win his first WWE Title. People don’t remember it? Got a short memory? Video of the first MITBLM. Edge finally climbed and got the briefcase to win. 10 months later Cena went through an entire Elimination Chamber and retained, but then Edge, with Lita in tow, cashed in and easily won against Cena. Edge then says he did it. He had so much fun doing it, that he did it again years later to Taker. That’s what he was talking about last week when he speared Orton and said than now the fun begins. That’s because he owns the MITBLM. He can show how twisted he can be. You know what can happen when a viper runs into a 20 foot ladder? The viper gets his head crushed before he can even strike. And he’s going to do it to every other participant in the match. At the end they will all be staring up at Edge. Ding-Ding, Cole steps up to the spiffy RAW GM podium. Cole calls for attention and gets heat. Tonight’s main event will feature all 8 participants in the MITBLM. Edge, Miz, Ted and Jericho against Evan, Morrison, R-Truth and Orton in an 8 Man Tag Team Mega-Match.

Backstage Henry heads for the ring.

- Commercial

Sheamus out to the ring. Mark Henry came out, Lucky came out, smiled, but didn’t go to the ring.

Henry reached for Sheamus, Sheamus attacked hard but Henry pushed him off. DDT on Henry for two. Knee drops to Henry’s head, then forearms to the face from behind for two. Chinlock on Henry. Henry to his feet and out. Henry rushes Sheamus in a corner, but eats a foot. High knee to Henry. Sheamus with for a clothesline, but was knocked down by Henry. Henry hit a clothesline and pinned, but Sheamus got a foot on the bottom rope. Sheamus rolled out of the ring. Henry goes out, picks up Sheamus and throws him back in the ring, over the second rope. Henry in and eats a big boot. Sheamus pins for three.

- Winner: Sheamus

Sheamus to his feet holding his ribs, celebrates, then glares at Henry. Video of the high points of the match. The ref checks on Henry as Sheamus celebrates on the apron and then on to the ramp.

Josh with Nexus, minus Wade. He asks what they think of what the GM said. Tarver says that it goes the other way too. If a member of the roster touches them, they’ll be suspended, so they can still make an impact. Skip then demands to know what someone said off camera. The camera pans to Skip. He gets in the face of a crew member of some sort and pushes him down hard. Tarver says that’s what they mean. They all laugh as they pull in closer to Josh who stares at the floor, noticeably nervous.

King’s in the ring. He says a new DVD will be out. It chronicles one of the best in ring technicians ever. He says to take a look at this. It’s a video setting up for Ricky ‘The Dragon’ Steamboat’s new DVD. It will be out tomorrow. King announces Steamboat who comes out on the stage, in a suit and waves, then poses. He comes down to the ring, slapping hands on his way out. Steamboat gets in the ring with King. King says the DVD cronicals some of your greatest matches and your career. But there’s a few guys who wanted to come out and honor his career as well. Steamboat’s jaw drops when Arn Anderson, Dean Malenko, Mike Rotundo, Michael Hayes comes out (but they all work for the WWE, they work together and are always there - not a big deal!). Hugs in the ring from all four of the guys to Steamboat. King says they all have something to say. Dean says it’s an honor to share this moment with him. He’s even more excited to watch some of the greatest matches of Steamboat’s career. Dean’s embarrassed to say, for most of those matches, he wasn’t even born yet. They laugh. Rotundo says he’s never faced Steamboat in a match. But when the money starts rolling in, don’t forget to pay his taxes. Lots of smiles. Hayes says Steamboat knows how much everyone respects him. They didn’t wrestle together much. He heard the other guys were coming out, he hasn’t had much camera time in the past three years, so he came out to do this - he did his little strut, then smiled at Steamboat. They hugged. Arn gets nice pop from those in the know. Arn says this is pretty impressive, all these legends. There’s a billion dollars worth of talent in this ring, and the rest of the guys! Arn wanted to be sincere. He wrestled Steamboat at least a hundred times and he never won one of them. But every time something magical happened in the ring and it was all because Steamboat made it happen, friend. Steamboat’s very special. When asked about the best 5 of all time you’ll hear names like Triple H, Taker, HBK, never know who number one or five was. He doesn’t know who was better, hasn’t seen anyone better and never been in the ring with anybody better. It will take more than 3 DVD’s to hold his career. Steamboat thanks them all and the WWE Universe for nearly 40 years… Of course it’s Nexus. They walks out slowly. Off came the jackets in the ring as the legends prepared for these boys. Nexus couldn’t even get in the ring at first because they kicked them back. Slater in, but they beat him back. The same with Tarver, but then they grabbed Arn and pulled him out of the ring and started beating on him. Arn into the ring post and was down. “You suck” chants filter through. Dean pulled out and slammed into the barrier. Tarver in and grabbed I.R.S. Pulled him out and beat him down. Hayes, King and Steamboat left in the ring. They all slowly climbed up on the apron, then all got in at once and attacked. King sent out and a couple guys out to work him over. Hayes out and beaten down. Steamboat beaten in the ring. More on Hayes outside, more on I.R.S., then back in on Steamboat who could barely get to his feet. They surrounded him and he was all alone. They begged him to ‘strike old man!’ Steamboat did and they took him down. The fans are really hot, really pissed off. Arn about to his feet, grabbing a bottom rope, Tarver kicked him down from inside the ring. They got Steamboat up and Otunga hit a spinebuster on Steamboat. They lines Steamboat up and Skip clotheslined him. Skip again called Steamboat an old man. “You suck” chants get very loud. They drag Steamboat over and Gabriel climbs. He hits his 450 splash on Steamboat. They all stare down at Steamboat, then look up at the fans for huge heat. Nexus leaves the ring, Steamboat a lump in the middle. Fans scream at Nexus as they leave.

Video of the attack on Steamboat, Arn, Hayes, Malenko, King and I.R.S. Cole narrates through each man’s abuse. Steamboat is being taken out on a stretcher, head immobilized. Arn barely standing. Cole says it looks as though nothing will happen to Nexus for this attack because they couldn’t touch a WWE Superstar or retaliate, but these are legends. Cole says the locker room didn’t empty because the wrestler’s would be suspended if they had. They then showed Gabriel’s 450 onto Steamboat as Cole says it says the entire story.

Evan reverses out of a suplex, ducks a punch and tags out. Morrison in quickly and nails two clotheslines on his former partner quickly. A dropkick to the Miz, then Morrison off the second rope to kick Miz in the head in what Cole calls a ‘vintage’ move. Ted pulls Miz out of the ring. Morrison flies out and takes them both down.
