Live Notes From WrestleMania XXVIII At Sun Life Stadium

Ben Marshall sent in the following live notes from Sunday's WrestleMania XXVIII at Sun Life Stadium in Miami, Florida.

The crowd were chanting "YES!" and doing the dueling "Let's go Cena! / Cena sucks" and "Fruity Pebbles / Tooth Fairy" chants pretty much every 5 minutes outside the arena and as the stadium started to fill up. At one point, the entire stadium erupted into a "YES!" chant.

Daniel Bryan was WAY over with the crowd.

Sheamus' win got a big pop, but while I was walking around later in the show I heard a bunch of people complaining about it, saying that they paid their hard earned money to see a wrestling match and not a squash.

When the hype video for the Divas match started playing, TONS of people left to get food, take a bathroom break, etc.

The crowd was VERY into the Hell in a Cell match. Every little thing that happened got a loud reaction of some sort. The loudest pop of the match was when the Undertaker kicked out of the Sweet Chin Music / Pedigree combo. I haven't seen the TV version of the show yet so I don't know how well it came across, but that pop was INSANELY loud. All 3 men got a standing ovation as they walked to the back.

The crowd was pretty dead for the 12-man tag due to being worn out from HIAC. Booker T got a good pop when he tagged in, and Santino got an even bigger one. As usual, Ryder was very over.

The audio was really low for the backstage segment with CM Punk and Johnny Ace, so if you heard a "What?" chant, that was why.

Punk's entrance got a very loud pop.

I'm not sure if this got picked up on TV, but the cops arrested a guy in the section next to mine. A couple were in their seats and some guy walked down the stairs and started yelling at them saying that one of their seats was his. The two guys started yelling at each other and eventually came dangerously close to coming to blows. The cops eventually came and arrested the guy on the stairs, prompting the surrounding crowd to shout "OHHHHHHHHHHHH", followed by chanting "Na-na na-na hey-hey goodbye".

The crowd LOVED the Brodus Clay segment!

MGK got booed pretty hard when he made the "big ego" comment about the Rock.

As expected, Cena received a very negative reaction, and The Rock got a GIGANTIC pop.

The crowd was so rabidly pro-Rock during the main event that honestly wouldn't have been surprised if a riot broke out if Cena won.

HUGE, HUGE, HUGE pop when The Rock won.

After the PPV went off the air, The Rock posed in the ring, while Cena crawled away from the ring up the aisle. The look on Cena's face was a cross between "whelp, you got me" and "oh my god, I lost". The Rock went around ringside and high fiver the fans, autographed a sign, and held up a "If Cena wins we riot" sign while shaking his head. As he walked up the ramp, someone tossed him a University of Miami jersey with his old number (94) on it. Rock held it up for the camera, signed it and tossed it back. Someone then tossed him a "Boots 2 Asses" shirt. He held it up, threw it back, then left. Justin Roberts then thanked us all for coming, and that was that.
