This past Thursday on Inside The Ropes, stars from RAWs past helped
celebrate RAW going 1000 episodes, here are some highlights:
Lex luger on jumping to WCW: "That was a crazy weekend. I was working a WWF
house show on the Sunday and then on Monday, I turned up on Nitro. I'm
afraid Vince never knew I had gone until I turned up on the other show."
Stevie Richards on the ECW RAW Invasion: "It was a great night. The crowd
were fantastic and working for the WWF was a great experience."
Pete Gas on Mean Street Posse's matches with The Stooges "I still see Gerry
Brisco from time to time, and when we had that match in 1999 on RAW, it was
the highest rated segment and I think it's a record we still hold today.
Gerry always jokes 'we've still got it kid' Maybe one day, we'll get in
there and have a rematch. Those guys were great, such a blast to work with."
Raven on his time on RAW "to be honest, I never really enjoyed my time at
WWE so I don't know if I have a great mount that I remember. Probably one
of the Hardcore matches but they all morph into one."
Raven on the Wind Beneath my Wings segment with Stone Cold "I absolutely
loved being a part of that. it was so cheesy. I had so much fun. You've got
to give props to Stephanie McMahon for going out there and making a total
fool of herself. We were all so out of tune. It was fantastic."
Sean Oliver(Kayfabe Commentaries) on being there live during Triple H's
return in 2002 "I mean yeah, it was a big pop but I mean he just came out
and cut a promo. It just didn't do much for me."
Chris Masters on his favourite RAW memories he was a part of "Getting to
work with Shawn Michaels and John Cena, was just phenomenal. We got to do a
segment where the Masterlock Challenge main evener RAW. That's something
I'll never forget."
George "The Animal" Steele on John Cena as the face of RAW "I've seen a
million John Cena's, he's nothing special. Think about it, there are so
many that are better out there today."
George "The Animal" Steele on watching RAW today "I record RAW every
Monday. But with my DVR it takes me ten minutes to watch it. I fast forward
through most of it.
Michael Tarver on The Nexus' potential "That angle could have gone on till
WrestleMania but when we lost at SummerSlam, that was kind of it."
Michael Tarver on Ryback/Brock Lesnar "Ryback is an absolute beast. He's
not like the 2012 sloppy Brock Lesnar, this guy is actually good and he'll
be a World Champion soon"
